Advantages: Small snack size bars of Cadbury's milk chocolate
Disadvantages: Too small of a treat for larger appetites
As I am currently eating a Freddo bar with a cup of tea as a mid morning snack I thought now was as good time as ever to review this product.
***Price***
Like other "snack sized" or "treat" sized bars of Cadbury's chocolate, the price of a Freddo bar has increased from 10p to 15p. It's not going to break the bank ... well unless you are purchasing in large quantities.
***Packaging***
The Freddo wrapper is purple with the colourful Freddo frog character on the front on the wrapper. The Cadbury's branding is also on the wrapper.
This is a small little bar (about 10cm by 4cm) a good size for a "snack size" treat. This fits into a packed lunch box or a handbag quite nicely.
***The Chocolate Bar***
The chocolate bar is shaped as the Freddo frog character. This is almost a rectangular shaped bar of chocolate though.
The scent when you open the wrapper is of sweet creamy chocolate.
As soon as you bite into the Freddo the sweet milk chocolate taste hits your taste buds. This leaves a nice chocolate taste in your mouth but this is not overly sickly. Cadbury's chocolate has quite a creamy milk chocolate taste in comparison to Nestle chocolate, but not quite as milky or creamy as a bar of Galaxy chocolate which is more sweet and sickly. This probably will be gone in four bites so is only a small snack. If you want a larger snack opt for a Cadbury's Dairy Milk, as they taste the same but contain more chocolate.
I love eating these with a cup of tea as the chocolate melts in your mouth and the milk chocolate tastes even more chocolately and creamy; for some probably a bit too sickly!
***Nutritional Information***
Per bar (which is about 22g)
105 calories
5.9 g fat
Due to the size they contain less calories and fat that a "standard" chocolate bar. However if you were to eat two Freddo bars this would contain the same amount of fat as a standard Mars Bar so remember to put this into perspective as you are chomping away... despite being "snack size" they are still chocolate! My opinion is its always good to treat yourself now and then with this type of treat!
If you like Cadbury's chocolate but do not want to eat a full bar of Dairy Milk then these make a good sized treat. Great for adults and children alike. If you like chocolate then there is nothing to particularly dislike about Freddo's... apart from the fact one bar is not enough.
Summary: Small chocolate treats, make a good snack.
