Advantages: Nice, tasty, smooth

Disadvantages: a little expencive, not as expencive as some though.

I have to admit to being rather fond of ice cream, especially nice creamy smooth ice cream. I'm not too particular about the flavour as long as it's really smooth. I suppose if I really did have to choose I'd pick vanilla flavour.

The other day, while trawling my way through Safeway, I was eyeing up all the different verities and different makes of ice-cream in their freezers, when I spotted a good deal. Two tubs of Cadburys ice cream for the price of one, one was Cadburys Dairy Milk flavour and attached to it with a cardboard sleeve a vanilla flavour, mmm nice. I popped my find into my trolley and finished my shopping.

Later that day while sitting at home on my own, my thoughts turned to my icecream sitting in the freezer so I fished it out. Which pot should I try first was my first dilemma The chocolate pot looked nice but I felt more drawn to the Vanilla.

The pot itself is one of those shaped a bit like a plant pot about 4 ½ inches tall and 3 ½ inches across. The main colour on the pot was a kind of Vanilla colour with purple swirls all over it and a big scoop of vanilla flavour ice cream in the centre. The word Cadbury's written in gold letters above the scoop, under it not just the word Vanilla but "Heavenly Vanilla" written in the Cadbury's purple that most of us are familiar with. Well how could I resist that?

Looking closer at the pot I noticed:

It contains real double cream.

The Nutrition Information is: _

Per 100ml
Energy 594kj/142kcal
Protein 2.5g
Carbohydrate 12.8g

The pot contained 500ml.

Reading further it told me to remove my ice cream from the freezer, then WAIT for 10-15 minutes before eating, to allow it to soften. (I don?t think so) I found 15 seconds in the microwave
took care of that quite nicely.

Now there I am with my bowl of softened ice cream, I put my spoon in and scooped up a lady-like spoonful, Ok maybe it was just a little unlady-like size, and I then put it in my mouth, mmmm oooooh mmmm cor! It was delicious, it had a mouth feel of pure silk its just so creamy and smooth. Oh yes! Heavenly or what? As it melted in my mouth it just felt like double cream on my tongue.

The (Vanilla flavour) was quite natural tasting, not sickly and over powering like some can be. I found it didn't repeat on me too much like some can as well. In fact it was so delicious, I cared not a fig about the calories, well until the last bit of flavour had left my mouth that is.

The whole experience left me feeling quite happy and satisfied.

The pot cost £3.14 quite expensive for 500ml of ice cream but as I've a pot of chocolate flavour ice cream still left in the freezer I feel quite justified in my purchase.

I would recommend this product to any one who like's their ice-cream smooth. I suppose to those who prefer a little texture it may seem a little sickly.

Enjoy! Thanks for reading.

LOL @ Janharper... I LOVE ice cream but as an active athlete my diet simply doesn't allow it - quite enjoy frozen yoghurt though... Yeo Valley do a lovely strawberry one!

I feel totally cheated..now, really, your review didn't deliver what your title promised. It can be very difficult to carry out certain activities in an ice cream pot, you know, and you shouldn't encourage it...I mean to say...it might damage my health. Anyway, I decided to try the ice cream instead. Yes, it's goooooood. So, I gave you a VU for that part of your review.
