Advantages: Delicious, I mean really, really delicious!!!

Disadvantages: Sugary junk food

Having just moved to the UK a couple of years ago (after living here briefly as a child), I find myself in the happy position of not having tried all the chocolate bars in the average corner shop yet - and I'm having a great time discovering what I've been missing out on. One of my latest and greatest finds is the Cadbury Twirl.

I have long been a fan of Cadbury Flakes after eating 99s as a child. However, I was blissfully unaware of the existence of it's big sister the Twirl until I bought a box of Cadbury's Heroes to give out for Halloween treats. One of the Heroes was a miniature Twirl. I ended up eating all of these myself, and have since gone out and bought the larger version to enjoy.

A Cadbury's Twirl is nothing but a Cadbury's Flake that has been dipped in an extra layer of chocolate. It really is that simple. But what a difference this extra chocolate makes. The Twirl loses none of the delicate melt-in-your-mouth feeling that the airy Flake provides, but at the same time there is a richness to the Twirl that comes from the immediate hit of chocolate the extra layer provides when you pop this in your mouth. Also, you don't have to worry about losing any bits of Flake as you eat (a big worry!) because the layer of chocolate holds everything together so that no bits fall out into the wrapper, onto the floor, etc. Also, the extra layer of chocolate seems to preserve the flake inside the Twirl, as it has none of the dryness that a regular flake can have.

Twirls are easily available in mixed packs of Cadbury's chocolate such as Heroes and Fun-Size packs. They are also available in the individual chocolate bar section of the shop, sold in a purple wrapper with the word Twirl on it in yellow. Each full-size Twirl comes in a pack of two fingers - yet another advantage over the flake which is sold individually! A pack of two fingers contains 230 calories, making them a perfect size to share with a loved one. They cost around 54p making them a pretty good bargain, too.

Summary: An improvement over the Flake
