Advantages: Cadbury Chocolate, Lovely texture, Not as messy as a flake!
Disadvantages: Even a four pack doesn't last forever!
We'll I thought I'd better write a review on the joint best chocolate bar currently in production (alongside the Chunkie Kit Kat). The Cadburys Twirl is to the Flake what the Play Station 2 is to the Spectrum ZX. It's in a different world. First introduced in 1987 the Cadburys Twirl masses an annual sales revenue of £27 million. The strength of the brand is through it's loyalty from lovers like me with Cadbury spending little advertising budget on the product - proving that a good product, once established, will sell itself. It is described by Cadbury as "combines the crumbly, flaky characteristics of Flake and enrobes it with a film of milk chocolate." - and I can't really argue. Before Twirl came along I was adicted to Flakes, but everyone know's that eating a flake was like running the guantlet, trying to not get chocolate down you was near impossible - a definate no if you were wearing a white shirt. In fact I remember incurring the wrath of my mother so many times for chocolate stained clothes I use to eat it over the sink!! So roll on 1987 and cometh the hour, cometh the chocolate. No more missing Grange Hill whilst I hung over the sink...the Twirl had arrived. It hasn't changed a bit - the same old flake covered in milk chocolate. Retailing at around 35 pence it's a must for all the chocoholics amongest us. The coating of chocolate gives it that extra thick feeling to a flake and don't forget you get two fingers. If you love Cadbury chocolate then you'll no doubt love this - the texture is fantastic. And of course you get two fingers! Wrapped in it's new shiny foil like wrapper, but still with the same old yellow writing and purple cover the flake is still banished to the back of the fridge only for topping ice cream. Anyone who has tried the new Flake Dipped might notice that these bars are almost the same!!
