... re-introducing Wispa again there was a big buzz about it but Wipsa Gold didn't really have the same buzz. I used to love Wispa Gold's when I was growing up and upon biting into this bar all my childhood memories came flooding back. For me it is a very nostalgic chocolate bar! The chocolate is the same as the standard Wispa but the vein of caramel is very generous but not too much to make it sickly. Some caramel bars tend to skimp on the amount of caramel in them and this makes them pretty disappointing, I'm glad to report ...more

Crowned Review Cadbury's Wispa Gold: Who wanted these back?... (687 words)

2009 seems to be a year of comebacks, last week it was Tom Brady, the New England Patriot's Quarterback returning from injury, next Saturday (19th September) it's undefeated boxer and pound for pound claimant Floyd Mayweather Junior with his come back from "retirement". Though to some the biggest comeback of the year was that of the Wispa Gold following on from the return of the normal Wispa chocolate bar. The brand had originally been dropped by Cadbury's when they re-branded it something silly such as "Dairy Milk Bubble" that pretty much flopped. In recent times fan campaigns of the bars have almost forced the hand of Cadbury's into allowing both ...  Read the complete review

You're probably seen the adverts in the papers by now: "Goodbyes are always hard" they say. Yes, it seems that Cadbury have decided that the return of the Wispa Gold will indeed be (as, to be fair, was always planned) a temporary affair. It's not really that surprising, since there just hasn't been the buzz about this product that there was with the reintroduction of the classic Wispa and so despite a Cadbury spokesperson saying in "The Grocer" a few months ago that there "could well be opportunities" to bring back the Gold bar for good, that now seems unlikely. Still, while it is here, let's see whether it's worth rushing out to the shops ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Cadbury's Wispa Gold: Gold has made a comeback! (376 words)

Wispa Gold is an old school choccie bar which has recently made a comeback for the new generation to sample it's delight. Since they came back I have had a couple and they are just how I remembered, but don't even think about eating more than 1 else I'd say you have some kind of death wish. Packaging= Gold, bling bling baby!!! Gold coloured foil wrapper for freshness with easy tear sides for that ravenous chocolate eating moment, withe the contents and nutrional value featured on the back of course. Appearance= Long thin bar of chocolatey goodness. Texture= The chocolate in Cadburys Wispas are quite heavily ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Wispa, With Caramel Inside - A Great Combination (318 words)
by - written on 29/10/09 (Very useful, 23 readings)
Rating:

Cadbury's Wispa Gold is one of the different types of Wispa Bar available. The Wispa itself was originally released in 1981 as a trial product. After the success of the trial it was launched nationwide in 1983. The Wispa Gold was originally launched in 1995. It is a version of the bar than contains a layer of soft but not runny caramel on inside the bar that sits on top of the famous bubbly chocolate. These bubbles are created by blowing gas into boiling chocolate. Then as the chocolate cools down, the gas expands creating the bubbled effect. In 2003 the Wispa was discontinued & sold in a different format under the name of Wispa Bubbly. This ...  Read the complete review

Ive been writing reviews all day and it suddenly dawned on me that I have not written about my latest addiction... mmm Wispa Gold!! I had long forgotten these bars of deliciousness and it wasent till they attually came back into the shops that I thought 'oh my god I used to love those!!' At 62p I think they are pretty pricey - but then most of the choclate bars that used to be 24p are very similarly priced now a days! Wispa Golds are basically original Wispas (Caburys chocolate with small bubbles through out giving a light and yummmy taste) however the gold versions (are not gold lol) but they have a layer of tasty caramel above the ...  Read the complete review
