Me and my partner were only discussing yesterday how much we both missed the Wispa Gold and how they should bring it back! So imagine how excited I was when he returned from the shop 5 minutes ago and said I've got a suprise for you and produced this! I was rather excited.

He bought this from our local Sainsburys but is unsure of how much it cost. The wrapping is metallic gold in colour and is of the usual cadbury foil wrap to keep the product fresh. The words Wispa Gold are across the front in a light yellow with a number of white stars around it. The wrapper tells us it is 'the cheeky wispa you love with a cheeky caramel layer'.

The bar is around 6 inches long and one inch wide and tall. It is very similar in appearance to a normal Wispa bar. The chocolate is a creamy brown colour and the chocolate aroma hits you as soon as you open the wrapper. Biting into the Wispa, you find that the chocolate is firm but not hard. Unlike Aeros, the chocolate is quite a bit firmer and the air holes are a lot smaller. The chocolate is of cadburys usual high standard and tastes creamy. The chocolate melts in the mouth really easily. The caramel layer is situated at the top of the bar and is just the right amount to complement the chocolate itself well without being too much. It is sticky but not to the extent where you get in a mess and is well formed tasting sweet and gooey.

This bar is not very good for your waistline at all! It contains 260 calories (13% GDA), 23.9g sugar (26.6% GDA), 14.9g fat (21.3% GDA) and 8.9g of saturates (44.5% GDA). So it should really only be enjoyed as a treat...however I have a feeling I'll be buying these on a regular basis now they are back!

I really enjoyed this bar and I am very glad to hear it is back on the shelves. I believe the caramel complements the texture of the Wispa really well. One bar is really satisfying and you probably wont find yourself craving more. I would recommend this to absolutely anyone but especially those with a love for chocolate or caramel (or both)!

Summary: Tastes brilliant

Good review, but I would disagree - I would definitely crave more after eating one! I signed a petition a little while ago to get this back on the shelves...I feel like I've done my bit of good for chocolate fans this year :o)
