Advantages: Great taste, back
Disadvantages: For how long?
**Introduction**
Wispa Gold was originally launched as a limited edition in 1995 and having recently been re-introduced has from what I have read received a lot of coverage on dooyoo and facebook with members talking with excitement about having to get one when they came out. Since the Wispa bars came back it seems as though they had never been away and now Wispa Gold is back I'm sure it won't take too long for the same to happen with them. Here is my review of Wispa Gold
**The Wrapper And Bar**
As you can see the previous wrapper is of a yellow/orange colour and has the distinctive letters which say Wispa Gold with the Cadbury;'s trademark on the top but Now they come in a distinctive gold wrapper. Once you have opened the wrapper you will see that the bar looks exactly the same on the outside as the standard Wispa, It's only once you bite into it that you get the caramel which is all Wispa Gold. It was announced back in May that the bar was going to be re-introduced but only for a short time in the run up to Christmas.
**The Taste**
With a small bite you will notice the same taste as the standard Wispa but with a bigger bite you will get to the caramel centre and the combination of the caramel and the wispa chocolate really is a tasty treat. The chocolate is subtly different to other Cadbury's chocolate and the bar is also thicker. The caramel and chocolate blend together very well to create a lovely taste in your mouth that will melt with the tiny bubbles In the bottom of the bar.
**Stockists**
These bars have been introduced in all the major supermarkets and newsagents for around 50p which is about the same price as the standard Wispa bar. At the moment these bars are only available until around Christmas time but you never know, they may decided to re introduce them fully. I am sure over the next few weeks that you will see more and more of these in your local supermarkets as I would imagine the demand for these would be pretty high.
**Overall**
I am very impressed with these bars and I am glad that Wispa Gold has returned, This is a chocolate bar that blends the taste of the Cadbury's Chocolate with the caramel seamlessly to create a very fine chocolate bar indeed that earns my five stars. It's not my favourite chocolate bar but I was pleased it was coming back and now it's here I think I will have a few more before the bar in case the bar is actually discountinued at the end of the year. Very tasty and at 260 calories is about standard for a chocolate bar of the size.
Summary: Read review.

- 12/09/09 To me a Wispa bar should be light and airy. Sadly the caramel content means its a bit heavier than usual that kind of messes up the original idea. Cadburys brought it out to rival Nestle's Aero, originally. |
