Advantages: Gorgeous creamy chocolate
Disadvantages: None!
Wispa are back!!!
I remember this chocolate bar from my youth, and absolutely loved it then, although I remember thinking of it a bit as a 'grown-up chocolate bar' as I could never quite finish one by myself!
Made by Cadburys, in the distinctive blue wrapper with red logo, I think the reason these were (and are) so popular is that they are quite plain. They are just milk chocolate, with no nuts, raisins or creamy fillings, so tend to suit everyone's pallette.
The chocolate is nice and creamy, with tiny little bubbles in the middle, apparently to help with the smoothness! I find the bars are just enough, not too filling, and not so sweet as some other chocolate bars that leave you feeling slightly sick afterwards! I prefer the bars slightly soft, I'm not a big fan of cold chocolate, but am told they are also brilliant straight from the fridge or cooler!
After retiring the Wispa a good few years ago, Cadbury's brought it back for a short time last year, and obviously realising just how popular it still was, have brought it back for good now.
All I can say is, hurrah Cadbury's, well done on bringing back a chocolate classic!! Now if only they'd do the same with Secrets.... :o)
Summary: A classic chocolate bar
