Advantages: Sweet
Disadvantages: Price, not healthy
I was on the go all day yesterday and didn't really get a chance to grab food at dinner time as I needed to catch a train. So I picked up a Wispa bar and a packet of Discos at the train station (I know, naughty me!).
Years back before they got rid of Wispas, I was never really too interested in them, as they were plain and I'd rather go for plain Dairy Milk or Galaxy. I just preferred the flavour.
This Wispa cost me 69p at the outrageous WH Smith train station price...but they have them in the vending machine at work for around 50p, and I assume they are that price or less in the supermarket. You can also buy the multi-packs and save even more.
Unwrapping the Wispa, I was faced with just a plain bar of chocolate, unsurprisingly! I'm glad they haven't changed the packaging as it looks good, just like the old days! I bit into it and I don't know whether it was because I was hungry or because I haven't chocolate in a while, but it tasted much better than I remembered. It was quite big and chunky, and a little bubbly but not as much as the Dairy Milk Bubbly. It was a lovely rich flavour and melted in the mouth. As it's just a straight bar and not split into chunks, I didn't feel that I should share it with anyone or save any for later - always a good thing when it comes to chocolate in my opinion!
Overall, I don't think it was worth 69p, because I could've bought another (cheapo, admittedly) magazine for that. However, I would definitely buy one as a treat from a supermarket in the future, as it tasted much creamier and lighter than I remembered.
Summary: A nice treat

- 04/06/09 It's a nice enough bar in my opinion but, well, rather overhyped for me! |
