Advantages: tasty, filling

Disadvantages: not the most healthy of bisuits!

Quite recently, I have taken to enjoying a biscuit or two with my cup of tea in the afternoon. For quite a long time I deprived myself of the sugary snacks, and when you don't have something for a long time, you sort of forget what they taste like. Though, I could just about remember the taste of chocolate digestives; a fantastic biscuit to tease the taste buds. I set out to buy a packet, but something else caught my eye instead, just a few packets along on the shelf.

Staring at me was a bright purple and blue packet, with the classic 'Cadburys' slogan printed across the top. At the side was a scrumptious-looking image of two half-coated rich tea biscuits. Next to this tempting picture read the words 'Rich Tea - for chocolate lovers'. The little heart which replaced the C in Rich was enough to make me purchase the pack for £1.16.

When I got home, parched, I plonked myself down with the cup of tea and opened up the biscuit pack. The biscuit was a traditional size of a rich tea or digestive, sitting snugly in the palm of my hand. On the underneath, the pale biscuit had the Cadburys logo printed on it, with an attractive wavy pattern of Cadburys chocolate on the top. It was quite a thick layer, which is always promising for chocoholics!

I dunked the biscuit into my cup to see if it could stand the dunk-test. Success - the biscuit remained whole when I took it back out. It had softened greatly, and the chocolate had begun to melt slightly, which provided me with an interesting texture; both creamy and soft. I nibbled away at the dry part of the biscuit, which turned out to have the same texture as a normal Rich Tea - not too crumbly but pleasantly crunchy. With minimum crumbs, I was able to enjoy the sweet chocolaty taste of the smooth coating, without creating the mess that comes with chocolate digestives! After just two biscuits, I had had enough - not because they were too sickening or unappetising, but because they were quite filling, which is a great thing as it helps to reduce over-indulging in the delicious snacks!

Verdict
---------
Although I set out to buy digestives, I feel I have found a much more satisfying biscuit to accompany my cup of tea. The sweet chocolate layer is of nice thickness with a pleasantly smooth and creamy texture, the rich tea biscuit giving it a crunchy edge. It passed the dunk-test with flying colours too; no soggy biscuits plopping down to the bottom of my cup!

I am definitely going to recommend these biscuits. They are quite low in calories compared to other chocolate biscuits, with just 60 calories each. As they are filling, you do not need to consume as many either to satisfy yourself. Though, they do have 4.1g of sugars and 2.3g of fat. I have decided to just over look that though!

Cadburys is a well-known manufacturer of chocolate treats, which instantly makes me feel like its worth the money. I was certainly not let down by these, and I'm sure you won't be either!

I prefer these to the digestives (Rich Tea's are always nicer!).

Love these x
