Advantages: Real Cadbury's chocolate

Disadvantages: Too sweet for me

I've liked rich tea biscuits since I was a kid, and I've always loved chocolate digestives too, so chocolate rich tea biscuits seemed the perfect crossover.

The box boasts real Cadbury's chocolate which seems promising - at least they haven't tried fobbing us off with the cheap stuff.

For me though, sadly, the attraction faded with the first mouthful. Digestives aren't quite as sweet as rich tea biscuits, and when you combine that sweetness with chocolate it just becomes too much for me. You can't even dip them properly in your tea as the chocolate melts too fast, and your tea ends up with a scummy-looking chocolate layer floating on top.

I suppose 60 calories per biscuit isn't bad for a chocolate biscuit, and £1.17 a packet certainly isn't too much for something containing Cadbury's chocolate, but I just didn't LIKE them. I'll be getting rich tea OR chocolate digestives in future - the two just aren't meant to be combined.

Summary: Nicer without chocolate
