Advantages: taste great

Disadvantages: calories

I don't buy biscuits very often but when I do they are often chocolate based. I love a good chocolate digestive but I was surprised to see these chocolate rich tea biscuits on the shelf a while back. I paid around £1.30 for a 300g packet which is well over what I would normally pay but I couldn't resist the curiosity that over came me.

What a great idea! Use the dullest biscuit in the whole wide world and cover it in the best chocolate in the world to spice it up a bit! In theory this should work really well and there should be no problems. I couldn't wait to see if they lived up to my expectations and with 'Munchies' night just around the corner, I popped them in the fridge to harden and cool up a bit.

The biscuit is pretty self explanatory in that it's a rich tea biscuit topped with a layer of cadbury's chocolate. When I got mine out of the fridge, I noticed that the chocolate looked a bit 'sweaty' but it was definitely edible. The chocolate had a thick enough coating that was definitely not stingy and when I bit into one it made a satisfying 'Crunch'. The chocolate was smooth and as I began chewing it melted into the biscuit which made a sort of chocolate, crunchy mixture in my mouth. As my saliva mixed with the biscuit, it went nice and soggy and by the end I had chocolate biscuit stuck in my teeth.

I really enjoyed the taste of these biscuits and thought they really worked well together but I wouldn't say they were as good as a chocolate digestive. I think the chocolate did a great job of spicing up what is normally a bland product and I would definitely recommend them even if you only try them once.

If you are interested, each biscuit contains 60 calories and 2.7g fat which isn't good if you eat a lot of them.

Summary: A surprisingly nice chocolate
