Advantages: choccy

Disadvantages: turkish delight bit

As I have established in other reviews, I don't think there is a better chocolate than Cadbury's Dairy Milk. To my frustration, they can't seem to notice a good thing when they've got it, because they constantly put other products into it and come up with new bars. This Cadbury Dairy Milk Turkish is the latest one I've tried, and I have a whole bunch of mixed feelings towards it.

To begin with, the chocolate itself is just perfect. Not too creamy (like Galaxy), but not too bland (like cheap brands), it has the perfect level of creaminess, which is that it IS creamy, but you can eat a lot of it without feeling sick. On top of that, there's just the right sweetness to it, and I think it's great.

In the middle of the chocolate is a layer of Turkish delight. I'm a big fan of the boxed stuff with icing sugar on it, but not of the Frys stuff, so I was dubious about this. The first thing I noticed was that the turkish delight was runny - what the heck is that all about? It actually has the consistency of caramal, and was dripping out as I ate. Surely that isn't what Turkish delight is is it?

Anyway, the smell of the turkish hit me next - very much like perfume or flowers, and not a sweet like smell at all. In fact, it was so strong, it overpowered the smell of the chocolate.

Eating the bar was messy, as I got runny turkish all over my fingers, and I have to say it was so potent that it ruined the less obtrusive glory of the chocolate bar.

Now, it is priced at the same as all the others (around £1.50), and I can't help but think you may as well stick with the original one for a more tasty and less messy eat.

Summary: nah
