Advantages: less crumbs nice taste
Disadvantages: not as nice as a flake
Cadbury Flake Dipped.
I have tried to stay away from Chocolate for a while as I am still in possession of a slight bit of excess baby weight. However after a particularly bad day I ordered my other half to pick up some chocolate treats on his way home from work.
This Cadbury Flake Dipped was one of the three chocolate bars he bought home and one I was rather pleased about as it had been some time since I had last had one of these. Now I am a big fan of Cadbury Flake but this Flake Dipped I am a little less keen on.
A chocolate bar nowadays is looking at costing you just under 50 pence and some even come in over the 50 pence mark! Inflation is crazy! Anyway this was a chocolate bar that was under the 50p margin. And since I wasn't the one who bought it I didn't really care what it cost!
The Flake Dipped is basically just the Flake bar dipped in more chocolate so the outside it coated in the same smooth and creamy chocolate as the flake bar is made from. Now on eating the bar I found that less crumbs are made than compared to eating a standard Flake bar. This is good because a lot of the time I would be covered in chocolate pieces and inevitably said chocolate pieces would fall between my legs and melt. I would often not notice and be walking around with a rather dodgy looking brown clump stuck to my jeans! Lovely!
Now the taste of the Flake Dipped seems a little different from that of the standard flake. The chocolate seems a lot denser and even the inside flake is a lot less...well... flaky!! Seems a strange thing to say but that is how I see it.
With eating a standard Flake you have a light and crumbly texture that you just don't get as much with eating the Flake Dipped. To be honest the Flake Dipped just reminds me of eating a Twirl Chocolate bar and I think I would opt for a Twirl any day because of course you get two separate fingers, i.e. more chocolate.
I have no problems with taste with the Flake Dipped, as it is really creamy and delicious. The chocolate does seem to melt in the mouth even though it might seem a bit gloopy, that is just how I like my chocolate to be. But overall I think I would either prefer a standard Flake bar or indeed a Twirl if I were feeling in a chocolate mood.
Yes it tastes good, yes there is less mess but really I think it is over rated at therefore am awarding a total of 5/10 its good but the alternatives are better!.
I hope this has been of some interest/help to you. Thanks for taking the time to read.xxxx
Summary: an ok chocolate bar but alternatives are better.
