Advantages: Good quality chocolate and raisins
Disadvantages: morish
Some of you must wonder how on earth I pack away so much chocolate and I bet you must think that I am absolutely mammoth in size because of this. I'm not over weight at all and I will explain all just so you know. I eat sooooooo healthy in the week without touching anything that is remotely bad for me and when it gets to either a Friday or Saturday (one or the other but not both), both my hubby and I buy lots of whatever we fancy and eat the lot then get back to healthy eating again. When I say we buy lots of treats, we really do go all out. We have whatever we want but I breastfeed and exercise a lot which helps me to maintain a good weight. So there, and that is why I am reviewing yet another chocolate based product.
The product is very simple in that you get a 200g of raisins that are covered in the most delicious chocolate around and that is Cadbury's. They are on offer in most places at the moment because they are new and Cadbury's are trying to promote them. They seem to be springing up everywhere so you can find them in supermarkets, garages and corner shops.
The Cadburys chocolate hits my noise as I opened the bag and I poured a handful into my palm. They were a really good size and I found that I could get around 10 in my mouth at one time. I tend to eat these by the handful as I haven't got the will power or patience to devour them one by one.
When they were in my mouth I could taste the creamy Cadbury's chocolate which is just an outstanding blend in my opinion but the magic happens when you start to chew. As you jaws clamp down onto the treats in your mouth the chocolate crumbles a little but the raisins burst and let out a juice which mixes with the chocolate. The chocolate then starts to taste of the raisins and goes a little watery. Once the chocolate has melted you are left with the remnants of the raisin skins until you start the whole process over again.
I did really enjoy these and they are the best chocolate raisins I have tasted in my humble life so far but I do believe that the Cadbury's peanuts still come way above these. This is probably due to the fact that I prefer chocolate peanuts. I would definitely buy these again if I was in the mood for raisins or I might think about buying them for Noah every now and again. I would however be hesitant to buy full price for them which is not the case for the peanuts ones.
If you like chocolate raisins then you will love these, it's just a case of whether you'd prefer to pay over the odds for a better quality chocolate.
Summary: Cadburys come up trumps again!

- 04/06/09 I heard that if you ate chocolate with raisins in the the fruit element of it cancelled out the fat of the chocolate...?
