Advantages: lasts a long time srtawberry cream taste good
Disadvantages: lots of calories
I was offered a Campino sweet the other day so how could I refuse. It was not chocolate like my favourite confectionary but a hard boiled sweet. I was offered a sweet from a 140g hanging bag, most supermarkets sell these bags for just a penny or two under a pound. You can also buy small tubes of campino sweets weighing 43g these cost about 40p think I have seen them for 38 and 39p there are 10 sweets in this tube. They also make a mini sugar free campino sweet
Campino are manufactured by the German company Storck a fairly modern sweet first made in 2000. I had not realised it till I just looked at the Storck site but they also make Werthers sweets.
There are 5 flavours available three flavours strawberry and cream, orange and cream. And summertime fruits are available in England, probably Scotland wales and Ireland too , blackcurrant, chocolate and caramel are also available but I am not sure if they are in England Or the other lands that make up Great Britain .
IO was offered a Strawberry and cream one from the bag which had a picture of a real strawberry in a spat of cream around the cream is a strawberry red circle, Campino is written in Blue. Each sweet is individually wrapped; the wrapper not east to undo it was one of those airtight shrink wrappings.
Opening the packet I smell the sweet its sweet and synthetic strawberry. The sweet is ball shaped and has pink and cream white swirls.
This sweet is hard it is a sweet for sucking, lasts quite a long time this way.
The taste of strawberry is quite real better than the synthetic whiff I got when I opened the sweet, it is a smooth flavour and yes I can taste the cream too, a rich taste very pleasant. This sweet does taste very much like strawberries and cream.
I continue to suck the sweet lasted nearly 10 minutes and the flavour lingered in my mouth. I would not need to eat many of these sweets at one time one or 2 would be enough they are a bit sweet and the flavour quite strong enough to satisfy
I wonder how many calories? Well 100g contains 418 kilojoules so about 20 kilojules per sweet. These sweets contain 87.g of carbohydrates per 100g 46.1 grams of this are sugars, so not really ideal for those dieting.
Yes I would recommend these sweets good for a car journey keep the kids quiet have a competition see who can make one last the longest
