Who needs an excuse to enjoy delicious ice cream? I don't! No matter what time of year be it raining or sunny outside I want ice cream as my treat! Preferably with chocolate biscuits or pieces of chocolate all chopped up and thrown in. I have been known to call my fiance and beg for him to take mercy on me and bring a delicious treat home and he always goes for something with a more luxurious feel to it when compared to what I'd usually buy (good job I'm going to hold the pursestrings when we live together!). Carte D'Or comes in a plastic tub which holds 1 litre of ice cream and to open the tub you have a small plastic piece which you need to break ... Read the complete review

This is no ordinary ice cream...no no, this is luxury ice cream at its best! I'm normally more of a chocolate ice cream fan, but I was having friends round one evening and opted for the safe bet. Most people like vanilla, so I decided to go for the Carte D'Or one. My friends loved it! We ate the entire tub! The fantastic thing about the Vanilla Carte D'Or ice cream is that it's completely soft scoop. So you don't have to worry about digging away for hours and bending your spoon in half! The ice cream itself is very light and mousse like. It's rich and creamy and is made with Madagascan Vanilla, which is the vanilla capital of the world! ... Read the complete review

I don't tend to buy tubs of ice cream very often, but in the run up to Christmas I decided that it would be a good idea to purchase a good quality vanilla ice cream to go with various hot desserts that we had planned for the festive season! I decided on the vanilla ice cream made by Carte D'Or, as this was a brand that I recognised and more importantly it was on offer at Tesco. The packaging looked nice enough, so in the trolley it went! The ice cream comes in a 500g plastic tub, which is clear so that you can see the ice cream inside. The lid has a really nice picture on it (not the one above though). It clearly states that it is made by Carte ... Read the complete review

Carte D'or is one of the long time standing ice creams, and although it is very expensive, it is indeed a luxurious ice cream for those like me who go for the quality. Vanilla is still the most popular ice cream, it is so versatile and can be served with anything or eaten alone. At any time. This particular Vanilla is the king of vanilla, it is very pale in colour, no bright yellow to dazzle you when you remove the lid, very natural looking and the best bit is. there is real vanilla in it, little flecks can be seen, and these are in fact vanilla pod, which has been ground into it. This adds a whole new experience to the word vanilla. Most ... Read the complete review

Well I'm probably speaking too soon but it looks like maybe Summer has arrived at last. The sun is shining, my daughters are playing outside and it's time to reach for the ice cream. Not any old ice cream you understand but Carte d'Or which is always a little bit special. It's always a little bit pricey as well, I have to add, but the reason we are having it is because it was on special offer at Sainsburys! At the moment we are eating the vanilla flavour ice cream which my youngest daughter calls 'banilla'! It comes in an oval shaped tub which is typical of all the Carte d'Or ice creams and has a very tempting picture of the ice cream and some vanilla sticks ... Read the complete review
