You can get lots of different Chocolate boxes these days, and nearly every one is popular and seems to have been around for ages. But Celebrations haven't been around for very long - and are popular.

Made by Masterfoods (who make the chocolates this product is a spin-off of), Celebrations are miniatures of well-established bars of chocolate and are individually wrapped in distinctive papers - not unlike their larger versions. All nine chocolate products are considered long-standing favourites.

Chocolates featured in the selection are as follows:

- Bounty - coconut covered in milk chocolate. Nice but not really a favourite of mine, the coconut might put people off (it stick to your teeth a bit). It's in a blue, green and white wrapper (like the Bounty bars)

- Galaxy - a chunk of the very popular brand of milk chocolate. Simple but tasty, and smooth, one of the nicest in the selection. Light & dark brown wrapper.

- Mars - arguably the most established of the bunch. A light nougat-like centre with caramel, covered in milk chocolate. Black, red and gold coloured wrapper, like the bars.

- Maltesers - also called 'Teasers', this is another well-established favourite. A piece of light honeycomb covered in milk chocolate, actually bigger than a Malteser (hence the jokey name!). In a red & gold wrapper.

- Galaxy Caramel - like Galaxy, but this time it contains runny caramel as a filling. Nice but I prefer the plain Galaxy chocolate. In a brown & gold wrapper.

- Milky Way - quite a simple chocolate, with the well-known light whipped centre. Very milky-tasting (no surprise!), and delicious. In a blue and red wrapper.

- Snickers - like Mars, well established and nice. If you like peanuts and caramel you'll no doubt love this one, and I do. Brown wrapper, with 'Snickers' in blue letters on a white background.

- Galaxy Truffle - the strangest of th
e bunch, again it has delicious Galaxy chocolate but the centre is mysterious, yet nice. Also very creamy, but works well. Brown and beige wrapper.

-Topic - personally, I think Topics are both overlooked and underrated. Another nut-based chocolate, this time it has hazelnuts (which I prefer) covered in caramel. My definite favourite of the selection. Red and beige wrapper, with 'Topic' in white lettering.

All chocolates in Celebrations are nice in their own way, but everyone is bound to have a favourite. The list above is a rough guide to what I think of each one, and what to look out for. I tried not to be too biased when tasting the selection (yes, I did do that!).

Ingredients

Sugar, glucose syrup, cocoa butter, skimmed milk powder, cocoa mass, milk fat, hydrogenated vegetable fat, lactose, whey powder, desiccated coconut, hazelnuts, peanuts, full cream milk powder, malt extract, vegetable fat, emulsifiers (E442, soya lecithin, glycerol mono stearate), fat reduced cocoa, salt, humectant (glycerol) egg white, wheat flour, hydrolysed milk protein, raising agent (sodium bicarbonate), flavouring.

Celebrations come in 480g boxes and a larger-sized tin (over 1kg). Neither contain Nutrition Information, so I can't give any values for this. Safe to say, this is chocolate so there will be high fat and sugar content - but they make nice presents, or even a treat and are easy to share with family and friends!

As an overall product, I rate Celebrations pretty highly. They are without a doubt one of the best boxes/selections of chocolates you can get, even if they are just an extension of other products. But I'd say they are definitely as nice as Roses or Quality Street, if not as original and established, and the selection is good overall, covering a decent range of chocolates. If you like any sort of chocolate and have yet to come across them, give Celebrations a try.
