Cereal Bars in GeneralNewest Review: ... you. My favourite cereal bars have to be the Kellogg's Nutri-Grain fruit bars. They are soft-baked bars and contain a different fruity flavour in each one. You can get ones such as Apple flavour, Blackberry & Apple, Blueberry or Strawberry. The outside is very soft and the inside is juicy. They have great flavours. The frusli bars are pretty good but they are harder and full of fruit and oats. Kellogg's also produce many other bars such as Rice Krispies ones and Coco Pops ones as well as the Frosties bars. These are a lot better for kids and have a fantastic taste too. Kellogg's also produce a range of Special K bars, which are lighte... more |

As it has been drummed into me from a young age that breakfast is good for you and has to be eaten, I'm in the habit of it. This ususally takes the form of a bowl of cereal but when I'm in a hurry and don't have time, I sometimes opt for a cereal bar. Some of the cereal bars I've tried are: Tracker bars; these are quite delicious, sweet and gooey in my opinion. My favourite is the roasted nut one (26g, 131 kcal, about 50p) but chocolate one is okay too Nutri Grain bars - I've really gone off these as I think they're sickly sweet and the texture is too cardboard-y. Bleh. Natural bars; these bars are quite tasty, though a bit ... Read the complete review

Breakfast is something I am not keen on, I find it very hard to eat a large amount, or faff around sorting out toast or cereal in the morning, but, because of the tablets I take, I have to eat breakfast and I have to eat within about an hour of getting up. Now I'm supposed to eat something substantial, but trying to accommodate this when you struggle to know which brush to aim at your hair and which at your teeth first thing in the morning is hard. For me, this makes breakfast bars idea. Generally these bars are around 20-35g and a single breakfast bar is only just about enough to kick start your metabolism according to a dietician I once saw, so I reckon if you ... These bars now come in so many varieties from so many different companies so there is a lot of choice. They are often sold to us as being healthy but quite often this is far from the truth and they contain an awful lot of rubbish. I use them when I am in a major rush so I can chuck it my bag or have it at work but it does not really fill you up in the same way as a bowl of porridge would. I think as well because you have not sat at a table and eaten it does not really ' feel' like breakfast. The other problem with these is that some are so expensive! Special K apple and pear bars are over £2 for 6 which I really don't find cheap when ... Read the complete review

Home Made Cereal Bars. There's nothing like a cereal bar for a healthy snack alternative. Unfortunately a lot of ready made cereal bars are not quite as healthy as we are led to believe. They can be full of sugar, topped in chocolate and even full of additives and other potentially harmful chemicals. Saying this, more companies are now becoming more health conscious and are trying to improve their recipes. It is for these resons that I now make my own (although this recipe does include sugar and fats, they are the natural types at least). My favourite bars are apple and raison, and here's how to make them. Ingredients: 1 1/4 ... Read the complete review
