Advantages: OK if ypu are near-fainting point
Disadvantages: boring, tasteless or the bits get stuck in your teeth
I've never really taken to cereal bars.
I know the advantages of them:
- depending on the brand they have varying degrees of nutritional value such as fibre, carbohydrate,a little iron, a few vitamins and a bit of protein
- I know they are reasonably priced as a fairly good one can cost just 20p
- I know they are convenient to eat as you normally can undo these with the fingers (though sometimes I've had to use my teeth)
- I know these are better for you than a cake or a few biscuits
- I know you can eat one anywhere if you are famished as they don't really leave crumbs
BUT I'm sorry I really can't stand cereal bars!
The only one I can ever honestly say was nice is Slimfast's meal replacement cereal barwhich I bought last week at Boots for £1.25 out of sheer hunger. It was tasty, filling and had good nutritional value according to the pack.
Apart from this one - YUK!
disadvantages:
- most I've tried taste like cardboard and have an aftertaste
- some are soggy
- most look incredibly boring once the wrapper is off - you feel like a spaceman/woman on rations
- some bars are chewy but you end up with 'bits' between your teeth and usually in a place where you can't get the dental floss out!
So - I'm afraid if I have to eat one out of sheer hunger I'll only go for Slimfast.
I love cereal so maybe it is just my taste buds, but I really can't get on with cereal bars!
Summary: cereal bars have too many disadvantages

- 24/07/08 Sorry but this is blatantly a poor review and you've tried to make it look useful by putting a space in between every really silly point. Revenge rating me just shows how silly you really are because I still get dooyoo miles for you doing it. |
