Cereal bars, snacks that do nothing but taste like crap? (Cereal Bars in General)

Advantages: good temporary stomach filler, low in calories

Disadvantages: tastes either too sweet, too sugary, too blegh... doesn't give energy as promised.

Cereal bars have never been a good friend to me. I mean they never really filled me up like a normal bowl of cereal would, they never gave me the energy they were promising, and never once did I really enjoy their taste.

They were either too sugary, too sweet, too... blegh, or even just felt like chewing tanned leather, but it tasted like plastic.

Fantastic.

I mean I guess if you have nothing on you but them, and you're quite hungry, they go great with flavored drinks like grape juice *for some reason grape juice just AMPLIFIES the whole experience*, but eating them bare will make you thirsty and fast.

In my opinion these things are nothing more then just another snack. Their calorie count is low so I guess I should give them that, but i'd much rather take on a bit extra calories then have to consume these things. This cereal bar industry has a long way to go.

Summary: I'd not buy them unless I really need them for something like a camping trip
