Advantages: Expensive ones are tasty

Disadvantages: Not enough to fill you up

It's sad to think that life can be THAT busy that you don't have time to sit down for a bowl of cereal for breakfast, but it seems to be indicative of the world we live in. To combat this, we have cereal bars; supposedly a bowl of cereal squashed together into a bar, you can eat them wherever you like. In my experience, they come in two distinct categories:

1)Cheap and nasty - forever in search of a bargain, I bought a pack of 'Sainsbury's own' cereal bars. When I ate one, I nearly lost a tooth! I have since tried other cheap varieties and find them all the same. They are very much like chipboard: hard, glued together clumps of 'cereal' (or wood chippings if you prefer) stuck together with glue. They are tasteless, and hard to eat. No, you definitely can't go cheap with cereal bars, which leads me to number two.
2) Expensive and nice - yes, brand names win here. You can buy all manner of brand name cereal bars, with dried yoghurt, raisins and blueberry's lovingly stuck to the top. These taste delicious, and are a very well manufactured product, but both the first and second option have one big problem: it's not enough!

I don't care what you say, cereal bars are nowhere near a bowl of cereal in size: I feed my 4 month year old son more than that. Do they really expect me to eat this bar and feel fine til lunch? What a joke, and the world knows it. Most of these bars are around 20g: 20g? Are you kidding me? I'd need to eat 4 or 5 for breakfast, which defeats the whole object of quick and easy breaky on the go doesn't it? No thanks, I'll get up in time for breakfast!

Summary: Have a bowl of cereal instead
