Advantages: Good for on the go

Disadvantages: tasteless and pricey

These bars now come in so many varieties from so many different companies so there is a lot of choice.

They are often sold to us as being healthy but quite often this is far from the truth and they contain an awful lot of rubbish.

I use them when I am in a major rush so I can chuck it my bag or have it at work but it does not really fill you up in the same way as a bowl of porridge would. I think as well because you have not sat at a table and eaten it does not really ' feel' like breakfast.

The other problem with these is that some are so expensive! Special K apple and pear bars are over £2 for 6 which I really don't find cheap when you can pay under £2 for a whole BOX of cereal. THat being said there are the value ranges which are around 77p for 6.

Some are semi tasty but others are just plain mulched up cardboard!

Summary: Not something I would opt for very often
