I would not say this product is my favourite food, not by a long way. But when I made the decision to go Vegan for a while a few years ago this really made a massive difference to my diet.

Veganism obviously means you cannot eat cheese but the ingredients in here also make it perfect for a variety of allergy sufferer's (lactose intolerant particularly). Tofu and soya bean extracts are the largest portions of the ingredients.

They are available on the net and from some health food shops (my local Holland and Barrett stock it). It is about £3 per pack.

I hadn't realised how much cheese palyed a part in my daily diet. In anything from sandwiches to lasagne to on salads it is a nutritious and taty part of a diet. I have to confess though this doesn't taste right compared to the real cheeses. You can get a reasonable idea of what it is meant to emulate (you can get cheddar, edam, mozzarella and other flavour), these vary in strength - I find cheddar the strongest.

I find they all have a slightly rubbery texture and some people may find this puts them off. The cheeses melt fairly well (YAY PIZZA) except for the fact that they seem to absorb air bubbles in it - a little strange.

Not quite the cheese I know and love, but a great alternative for texture and flavouring which can be comparable.

Summary: An option for non milk consumers.
