Chocolate is one of the most favourite flavours in the world. They are consumed in various forms and shapes. There are 3 types of chocolates- milk, dark and white and then the different combinations of these with or without addition of other flavours.

It is the cheapest form of indulging yourself to a nice treat. It is an ideal gift for all occasions- birthdays, Christmas, Easter, and BBQs etc.

They are made from cocoa beans which first originated in America. In UK, it first arrived back in 1650.

As of today some of the world famous chocolates manufacturers are Cadburys, Ferrero and Nestle. In Birmingham, Cadbury World is one of the well known tourist attractions. For just £13.45 for an adult ticket, you can take a tour of their world, taste many types of chocolate and also take some samples home. The best is like there is the hot chocolate in a cup- its mouth watering.

Some beneficial effects of chocolate are proven on circulatory system, anticancer and antidiarrhoeal. Also, it is a well known aphrodisiac. But eating too much means you are loading you with calories and becoming obese. But I have to say that I luckily haven't seen this effect on me. I love chocolates and am still thin!! It has also been proven that eating too many chocolates (or any sweets) increase the incidence of tooth caries.

Chocolate is available as bars, chocolate drinks, confectionary and also cocoa powder. Addition of nuts, fruits, rice crispies are quite common and recently adding chilli has also become a norm. This year's Apprentice series (reality TV show) had a final task of making and branding chocolates which showed even addition of coriander and basil! I don't know how much I will like these flavours but each one has got their own tastes. Some of my favourite chocolates are Ferrero Rocher, Cadburys fruit and nut and kinder Buenos.

In a bar or in a cup, just indulge yourself in one.
