Advantages: sugar free

Disadvantages: contains aspartame

Chupa chups are probably the most popular and well known lollipop brand that I know of. The lollipops come in all sorts of weird and wonderful flavours and you can buy them individually for around 20p or for £2 you can get a bag of around 15-20. You can pick these up fro just about any supermarket or local store and they will usually be in a twirly stand trying to tempt you at the checkouts.

The lollipops don't particularly smell of anything and they definitely aren't a perfect circle like other lollipops. They are very mis-shapen and isn't smooth to the touch. The bottom half of the circle is slightly bigger than the top too.

When first put these lollipop's in my mouth it takes a while for the flavour to come out. Eventually the flavour does come out but it reminds me of bad version of a Muller light yogurt. The artificial sweeteners stand out a mile and I find that they leave a weird after taste in my mouth. The flavours aren't as nice as the normal lollipops but I would still buy more because they not only felt like a nice treat but I liked the fact that they were sugar free so I knew they weren't harming my teeth.

The stick is made of plastic which is a bit of a let down. When I finish my lollies I like to spend a bit of time deforming the stick. If the stick is made of paper then I wet the end and try to unravel it until it's one big mess but since this one wasn't I just bit it until it was flat from top to bottom.

Over all I enjoyed the chupa chups sugar free version but I wouldn't recommend them to people who don't enjoy the taste of artificial sweeteners. I would definitely buy them again but I wouldn't let my boys have them due to the fact that they contain aspartame.

Summary: Not as good as the real thing ut still good!
