Tasty biscuits (Crawfords Custard Creams)

I have been eating Crawford's Custard Cream biscuits for about 8 months now ever since I started in my recent job, which provide them in abundance, along with several other different varieties of Crawford biscuit. I have to say, the custard cream is the best of all the Crawford's selection, in my own opinion. The custard cream is a classic biscuit design, made by sandwiching dried vanilla cream filling between two biscuit casings.

There are several different makers of the Custard Cream biscuits, and Crawfords has to be amongst the best. Unfortunately, I can not seem to be able to find these biscuits in major supermarkets such as Tesco, and seem to be able to only find this brand in the local newsagents and corner shops and they tend to sell for relatively cheap prices, buying my pack recently for on 49p for the pack. Tesco do sell their own branded version of the biscuits which cost 39p for a 200g packet and 47p for 400g. There is also the value range of custard cream biscuits from Tesco which only costs 30p for a large 400g pack.

The Crawford's Custard Cream biscuit are not the healthiest of all snack items, containing 59 calories per biscuit, but well worth the flavour! The fat content is fairly high as well, being around 23%, with 23.3g of fat per 100g or 2.8g per biscuit. They are suitable for vegetarians and contain no artificial colours or flavours.

Overall, they are a fantastic flavoured biscuit which provide a great snack item. They also produce great bourbons, ginger nuts, digestives, and shortcake biscuits. My wife is also a huge fan of these and I'm sure she will insist in buying these for the foreseeable future. I give these biscuits a Dooyoo rating of 4 stars out of 5 and will gladly change it to 5 stars the day they make these biscuits good for you!
