After the war Mars bought out Hersheys steak in the product and has taken it to the heights we now know with various sorts of M&Ms and of course a pretty international following of the candy. So onto these ones in particular, coming in a blue packet with m&m's written across the front, 2 characters that seem to be the brands icon standing behind the products logo and the word crispy in the upper corner. The pictures of the various coloured sweets near the ...more

Premium Review Crispy M&M's: The OTHER M&M's...you know...the blue ones (713 words)

With the bars I've not tried running out (though there is a few notable exceptions) I've decided to try eating more sweets. One of the most peculiar sights at a shop is the blue bags of M&Ms, I only ever seem to remember the brown bag and the yellow bag, the chocolate and the nut variety, so it was this reason that I decided to have the crispy ones first. M&Ms are rather an old sweet and have quite a long and storied past that dates back to the 1940's and were created by by Mars head honcho Forrest Mars, Sr. Due to way the chocolate was rationed a deal was struck with Hershey's who's then president was Will F.R. Murrie. In return for being allowed to use ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review M&Ms do Smarties (241 words)

This is an interesting little product. It really isn't anything like what you think of about M&Ms; it's different. Think about a shrunken M&M with that classic candy coating, then fill it with chocolate and a bit of dried rice (like a rice crispie) and you're there. The interesting thing for me is the different textures and tastes from the combination of the three parts. First taste is sugary as the coatings roll around in your mouth. Not over sweet but just enough to make you think 'mmm'. Next up, the chocolate. Now, it's not a big bit of choccy, but even so it's quite nice. It's not particularly creamy, but it melts easily with the bits of shell ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Crispy M&M's: Swap your rice Krispies for these (454 words)

M and M's have to be one of my favourite treats but I will mostly opt for the peanut variety. Every now and again, to the shock of my hubby, I will pick up a bag of these. They are little circular balls that have a sugary outer shell with a milk chocolate inner but an there is also a crispy bit of rice sneaked inside too. They come in bright, vibrant colours with the letter 'M' on each side. You can buy them in 45g packs for around 50p but I suggest you go all out and purchase a family bag which will set you back around £1.80, because they are so morish that a little bag just won't satisfy. The thing about these sweets is that it's very hard to ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Sweet, light imperfection (549 words)

M&Ms Crispy are a variety of M&Ms produced in the UK by Mars. Being a bit of a sucker for all things in the confectionary world (including chocolate ants... but that's another story!) I had to get a packet. Supermarket checkout, every mother's nightmare, sweets within easy "oh it's only one packet" reach. Thus the M&Ms came to end up in my bag. My purse is about 40p less well off. I imagine that most people have tried regular or peanut M&Ms in the past and these are not far different. A crunchy, coloured sugar shell (like the outside of a smartie but less starchy), gives way to chocolate and then, in the Crispy variety, a ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Crispy M&M's: Delicious Crispy M&Ms! (382 words)

Crispy M&Ms are milk chocolate and rice inside a crisp coloured shell. M&Ms are available in six colours: Brown, Yellow, Orange, Red, Blue & Green. They are contained within a blue packet which displays the characters of M & M, a chocolate and a peanut M&M. The bag is adorned with lots of pictures of crispy M&Ms which are nice and tempting and always makes me remember just how nice they are before I purchase a bag. The milk chocolate is delicious and creamy and the crisp outer shell is ideal to give a real delicious treat, the rice gives these a lovely crisp bite and is just another delicious addition. I love breaking ...  Read the complete review
