I love pickle and I love Branston pickle even more. I usually buy the cheaper products but we went through a phase of buying Branston when we were millionaires. This all went out the window when we recently tightened our budget again and realsied that name brand products were about to be a thing of the past again. I was happy to see that my dear old mum had it in her fridge when I was making some sandwiches a few weeks a go and not only was it Branston but it was the small chunk variety too. I always feel that these products are a bit of a farce to get the customer to spend even more money but I was actually pleasantly surprised by this one. The ... Read the complete review

If you're one of those people who urge on big lumps of onion in their pickle, then this is the product for you. The pickle comes in little chunks, around 1/4 of the size of normal chunks. Everything else is the same, but this makes it more palatable for little ones, and easier to spread on a sandwich. The thing I like about Branston's is the sugar content- I am on a diet (have lost over 2 stone!) and whilst I know pickle is low in fat, it is fairly high in sugars, so I checked the Branston out of curiosity, and was amazed to see it was much lower in sugar. Supermarket own brands are around 30% sugar, whereas Branston is 23.9%. Fat content is a brilliant 0.2%, ... Read the complete review

Branston Pickle....... crunchy, tangy, British to the core and can bring to life the blandest of foods and/or enhance some already good flavours. I have mine in cheese sandwiches, ham sandwiches, with cold turkey or chicken. You can buy the equivalent in other brands and it's usually cheaper and called "Sweet Pickle". With the credit crunch that might be tempting but not for me because this is one product where the known brand is far superior in taste and texture to its cheap imitators, so I'm sticking to it. It was first made by Cross & Blackwell as early as the 1920s but the brand was bought out by another company in ... Read the complete review

In this hot summer weather I like to eat sandwiches instead of a hot cooked meal and they're an great food to take on a picnic to the park or the beach. I have a very weird taste in sandwiches as you will know if you've read my top 10 sandwiches review. Mostly I like my sandwiches to include ketchup but I do sometimes like something a bit different. I like to buy good quality pickle, normally either Tesco's or if I can afford it then Branston's I recently came across their small chunk pickle which seemed perfect as I have always thought it would be nicer to have smaller chunks. Branston is a really good quality company who have been around for about 90 years ... Read the complete review

I do like some pickle with my cheese and one of my favorite pickles is Branston pickle. I recently bought a Branston pickle small chunk. I think Branston pickle is the best known pickle there is. Crosse and Blackwell first produced this pickle in 1922 in Branston. Branston which is a suburb of Stoke on Trent once a small village but now merged into Stoke. Branston is now produced in Bury ST Edmunds. The taste of Branston is the same as it was then as the recipe has not changed. Branston pickle is a sweet pickle, hubby says it's too sweet for him; it tastes fruity with a spicy tang. Branston pickle contains onions, Swede, cauliflower ... Read the complete review
