Advantages: Great taste, fairly low in calories, quite a good price, easy for little children to make.

Disadvantages: Crackers are a little dry when eaten alone.

Dairylea Lunchables Chicken/Cheese are something that I enjoy for lunch occasionally and although it's mainly designed for little ones I always find it catches my eye on the supermarket shelf. I am always very pleased with how filling these actually are and when I see them on offer I'll always buy a few as they keep for a good few weeks.

A Lunchables pot is a plastic tray with three sections, half of the pot contains 10 or 11 white & wholegrain crackers, quarter of the pot contains chicken slices and there are around 20 slices of chicken as well as one final quarter of the pot that contains Dairylea slices and there is usually 10 of these. I normally have 4 slices of chicken and 2 slices of Dairylea cheese for each of my two cracker 'sandwiches' and this is just the right size to eat without it being just a little too big for me to comfortably bite in to without giving myself a sore jaw!

When I eat any of the individual ingredients they really aren't anything special when combined they take very nice indeed. The chicken is a little rubbery but not too bad at all, the cheese is just Dairylea slices and these are fairly thick and taste quite nice. The crackers are very crunchy & tasty but are a little dry if eaten along so the chicken & cheese are a very nice accompaniment to them. I always use the entire packet and all of the chicken, cheese & crackers and for just 265 calories per packet I am always pleased with this for my lunch as it's not too bad at all. The packet contains 93.9g in weight and costs £1.19 From Tesco stores or www.tesco.co.uk but these have recently been on offer in my local Co-Operative and I did buy a few packets because of the fairly long sell-by dates.

I am rating these 4/5 as they are very tasty and great for young children as they will enjoy building the crackers up with chicken and cheese and everything is bite sized so great for little hands. The snack is very tasty and is a filling lunch for me and I have a pretty large appetite! I often eat these if I've missed breakfast and they are always a great treat that aren't too high in calories!

Summary: A fantastic lunchtime product that's quick, simple and surprisingly filling.

We buy these as an "emergency" snack for my daughter as they keep farly well, are self-contained and keep her occupied in the car. Cheese is better than the meat, but I wouldn't let her have them too often. Good review. 8^)
