Advantages: smooth creamy texture

Disadvantages: doesn't do what it promises

When I became a mother, eating and sleeping were two things I didn't always have time for. I tend to get hungry very easily and struggle to go longer than three hours between meals. As I still carry a little extra weight from the pregnancy I am trying to resist the temptation to snack between meals. One day, when in the supermarket, I found Danone's yoghurt 'Feel fuller for longer' and thought; 'Great! This is perfect for me.' Or was it?

Feel fuller for longer is small packaged yoghurt made of a hunger control formula. This means it contains fibre and protein that is supposed to fill you up to a greater extent than one would expect from regular yoghurt. Possible intended uses include as a snack between meals or as a healthy dessert. The yoghurt comes in a 120g package (four in a whole package) with flavours like; Blueberry, Fruits of the forest, Mango, Peach/Passionfruit, Strawberry and Raspberry. I tried the Blueberry and Fruits of the forest variety so will be reviewing those.

In a 120g pot yoghurt (Blueberry and Fruits of the forest), from an adult's guideline daily amount, there is:

76 calories
10g sugars
0.2g fat (<1%)
0.1g saturates (<1%)
0.3g salt

On the package it claims to be fat free and contain fruit and sweeteners. Every variety has different amount of calories but they are all less than 100.

The yoghurt has a creamy texture and contains bits of fruit, something which in my opinion is vital for yoghurt. The Blueberry and Fruits of the forest have a refreshing taste yet sweet. It is, on the other hand, not too sweet so of you like sweet yoghurt you might get disappointed.
The package is quite soft so getting every single bit out with a teaspoon is no problem.
Compared to other yoghurts (without hunger control formula) I think it is one of the tastiest, simply because of its creamy texture and bits of fruit. I haven't tried any other yoghurt with hunger control formula so I can't compare this one to others in its category.
In my opinion you do get tasty yoghurt worth your money but you might as well buy one that hasn't a hunger control formula if you only want nice creamy yoghurt.

There are a few positive things about this Danone yoghurt. It is perfect for a snack as well as a dessert after a meal, which seemed to have more effect. Because of the combination of the meal and the yoghurt makes it hard to say which of the two that kept me full.
Other advantages, such as, its creamy texture, bits of fruit and the 76 calories in one 120g portion attract you to buy it. So what is missing? It doesn't do what it promises. If it doesn't keep you full then why should you buy this specific yoghurt? Feel fuller for longer, I think, is a good idea for yoghurt and if it would work for me I would buy it even though it is not the cheapest yoghurt on the market. I am not saying that you shouldn't try it, because it works for some people (other reviewers on Ciao) so maybe it will work for you.

So as yoghurt I give it 4/5 but for a feel fuller for longer yoghurt I give it 1/5 only because it doesn't work.

Summary: Great as a yoghurt but not as a shape yoghurt
