I grew up in the southern USA and as such I always had very easy access to TexMex and Mexican food. There was a Mexican restaurant on every block near where I grew up and my family went to them regularly for cheap and delicious food. This is one of the only things I miss about the states and so I'm really glad Discovery Flour Tortillas are available now that I live in Britain. It's true that tortillas can be made from scratch with just a bit of flour and water. However, although I have done this I feel it's more trouble than it's worth and it's difficult to get the right texture with homemade tortillas. That's why I generally have Discovery Flour Tortillas ... Read the complete review

Since starting college I've started to make pack lunches as it's cheaper and sometimes healthier that way... One of my favourite lunchtime treats at home is tortillas so it was good to see 'Discovery Plain Flour Tortillas on offer for only a pound at Morrisons last week so we got a pack! These tortillas are in a bright red plastic wrapper and there are 8 in each pack, the best before date is not until next Feb which is awesome! Described as 'Soft wheat flour for making fajitas', these have 118 calories and 2.4g of sugar plus 2.8g of fats. There is also 1g of salt which is quite high but needed for flavour. There are 320g ... Read the complete review

On Thursday night I was anticipating visitors and made a big pot of spaghetti bolognese, a last minute emergency meant my visitors didn't come for their tea after all and I was left with all the bolognese. Determined not to waste it I put it straight into the fridge in a container and have been eating it ever since! Last night I was left with a very small amount which I was going to pop over the fence to my neighbour's greedy Labrador, on my way through the kitchen I noticed the Discovery Soft Flour Tortillas and decided that I'd forgot the dog and have the last of my bolognese in a wrap. I microwaved my wrap for a few seconds after warming the ... Read the complete review

I usually buy the Supermarkets own brand of tortillas, but Tesco had a special offer on Discovery soft flour tortillas not so long ago, so I decided to give them a try, as they worked out cheaper than Tesco's own. I had heard of the Discovery brand, but never tried anything from them, so wasn't entirely sure what to expect from these, although to be honest, from a product as simple as flour tortillas, I hadn't anticipated too much difference from one brand to the next. The tortillas come packaged in a clear plastic packet which is red on the front with a picture of what I assume to be a Mexican woman making tortillas, and you will need to use scissors to open ... Tortillas are a relatively new addition to my household foodstuffs, and I have to be honest I have been amazed by their versatility and deliciousness, folks! In fact I would be hard-pressed to find any fault with them at all... :o) These soft round and flat rather slender wheat flour discs (approximately the size of a reasonably-sized dinner plate), are a wonderful carbohydrate tummy filler-upper, and a very healthy alternative to our common-a-garden white bread. My initial encounter with these tasty babies came after a Weight Watchers weekly meeting where my friendly leader, Fiona, recommended them as a low fat change to our usual sliced lunchtime ...
