The sauce itself looks quite thick and is a deep red in colour. Stirring it into the pasta, I could see chunks of pepperoni and bits of what I could only assume were tomato. It was easy enough to stir round and it stuck to the pasta, so the distribution was easy. The sauce on the pasta tasted really nice. You could tell that it was one of the more expensive sauces (we've tried...more

This is one of Dolmio's 'stir-in' range of Pasta Sauces, which are absolutely perfect for a creating a tasty meal on the cheap without the slightest bit of hassle. I'm pretty damn useless in the kitchen it has to be said (although I do make a mean chilli and my spaghetti bolognese rocks big time) so when forced to actually 'cook' for myself I tend to turn to something like this or reach for my beloved microwave. At the moment, I'm tending to turn to these tubs more often because they are rather cheaper and more tasty than microwave trash. The sauce comes in a 150g foil covered tub which contains enough of the sauce to throw on pasta ...  Read the complete review

I like pasta as a quick easy meal at the end of a busy day and I tend to prefer the sauces that you stir in rather than the ones that you have to cook, as I find them more flavoursome. So when I saw an 'Improved Recipe Dolmio Stir-In Sauce For Pasta' in a spicy pepperoni and tomato flavour, I thought I'd give it a try. The foil lid is easy to remove so, once your pasta is cooked to your taste, you simply stir it into your hot pasta. Once the foil lid was peeled back, there was a very strong smell of pepperoni. Here comes along another cheeky addition from the stock cupboard, and a tasty one at that - Dolmio's Stir-in Spicy Pepperoni & Tomato sauce. Now I'm a man who enjoys a pizza with a load of meat on it, so the humble pepperoni is a must. Yet a sauce for pasta?! Surely not. Well, yes in fact, and it works superbly. As you'd expect, the main taste is a strong tomato base with a peppery kick to proceedings. The sauce is relatively thick, but it does come in a small pot so expect it to be concentrated. Once stirred in fully to a bowl of pasta then it breaks down and the overpowering taste you'll get from the sauce when you open the foil-sealed lid dissipates to ...  Read the complete review
