Advantages: easy quick satisfying
Disadvantages: its only ok
Hi, do come and have supper with me. It’s not going to be lavish just something quick and easy. It won’t be Gordon bleu but it tastes ok.
I have been busy today running round after people, doing the chores, trying to get some gardening done. I have one of those Dolmio stir in pots in the cupboard it needs using up so That is what we are having tonight, to be honest I can’t really be bothered to cook. Come over to my house about ½ hour before we eat and you can help me cook this Dolmio stir in sun dried tomato pasta sauce.
Hi, half past 6 welcome, would you like a drink while we cook? I shall offer you tea or coffee as the new meds the DR has given me says no alcohol to be consumed.
So what pasta do you fancy ehh? I have some Tesco value tubes will they do? or some Tesco value spaghetti?
Spaghetti right I will boil the kettle for the tea and sufficient water for the pan to cook the spaghetti in.
Could you open the spaghetti pack for me and put in about 200g enough for 2 people. Ta that’s the spaghetti on to cook takes about 10 minutes.
Let me prepare a green salad.
I made some garlic butter earlier let’s make some garlic bread.
Would you grate some parmesan cheese please?
Pasta nearly cooked I open the tub.
Did you know Dolmio makes other stir in sauces too? Roasted vegetable, Sweet pepper, Smoky bacon & tomato, Tomato & roasted garlic, spicy pepperoni and tomato and creamy Carbonara.
They only costs £1.25 from Tesco and this pasta was 16 p for a packet so I have not spent a fortune on our meal tonight
This tub contains
Tomatoes, Onion, Sun-dried tomatoes, Olive oil, Tomato puree, Modified cornstarch, Sugar, Salt, Basil, Garlic, Vegetable oil, Lactic acid, Black Pepper.
These sauces are free from artificial preservatives, colour, and contain 181 kcal, 5.5g protein, and 15.8g fat per 100g.
Pasta is cooked I will rinse it to get the starch out and then drain it. Then I will stir in the tomato sauce. Do sit down, I will serve our meals then we can chat you can tell me that spooky Halloween story or about your new pet goldfish.
Well what you think of this meal. Its ok a basic tomato taste not exciting. If it was just me eating I need only have used half the tub and kept the rest opened for 3 days in the fridge, if I was making pizza I could have used this for the tomato sauce on the base.
Yeah its an ok meal quick easy filling tastes well. alright enough, I know not that impressive but I did not need to impress you , if I did I would have cooked something different. There are several recipes using this sun dried stir in sauce at
http://www.dolmio.co.uk
Tell me what new books have you been reading recently? Been to any good gigs?
Summary: quick easy sun dried tomato paste to stir into pasta fdor a quick easy meal
