The Home Bargains shop by me is selling these tubs of Dolmio Stir In sauces for 50p at the minute and I brought a few the other day because that's nearly a third of the price Tesco are charging and I knew I'd enjoy them because I like everything I've ever tried from Dolmio. I've tried a few of the different flavours now but this Tomato And Roasted Garlic one is deffo my favourite because it's got such a yummy flavour and is lovely and rich. To use it you just cook some pasta up as normal and when you've drained it just stir through the contents of this tub. Easy! Make sure you drain the pasta good though because if you don't the excess water in ... Read the complete review

I don't tend to buy much in the way of 'convenience' or ready meals but, every now and again, I have one of those evenings when I'm lacking in time, energy or just the enthusiasm to rustle up a masterpiece in the kitchen and I resort to an easy option (usually a takeaway!) I noticed that the Dolmio Stir-In range of pasta sauces was on a 'BOGOF' offer in Morrisons the other day. I would not even consider buying one of these little pots at the full price of £1.45 each, it seemed much better value at 70 odd pence each and I picked up a selection from the range as storecupboard standbys. They came into their own tonight, having had a mad rush finishing work late ... Read the complete review

I love pasta - it's dirt cheap, filling, and can be stored in a cupboard for ages . The trouble is, on it's own, it can be a little bland, and while making fresh sauces is easy and enjoyable, sometimes, I just don't have the time . So, I've taken to buying stir-in sauces ads a cupboard standby for when I need to whip up some food in a hurry . Dolmio is probably one of the bigger brands of stir in sauces, and they have a wide range of flavours, including Carbonara, Smoked Bacon and Tomato, Spicy Pepperoni , and the flavour I used today, Roasted Tomato and Garlic. These sauces cost about 1.25 in the local supermarket, but are often on offers of buy ... Read the complete review

I can often be found looking for quick alternatives to preparing fresh vegetables and sauces, as my problems with mobility don't really allow me to stand for too long and do such preparations. That said though, I do not particularly enjoy eating lots of microwave meals and convenience foods as I find them bland and a lot of them are not very nutritionally beneficial. Also, I have problems with my appetite and often just want a snack-sized portion of food for my evening meal, whereas my partner has a very good appetite (piggy, almost) and is looking for a generous sized dinner when he returns from his working day. With that in mind, I am not keen ... Read the complete review

---Expletives all round--- I've been in one of "those" moods this month. You know the kind. You sit and growl at people, stay up way too late playing angry songs far too loud (with the occasional burst of "all by myself" by what's-her-whiney-face to temper it all). All the Vodka is gone and the Malibu (that caused me to go over my limit on my bank along with an admittedly frivolous £6.66 of petrol) is fast following in its footsteps, being hindered only by the lack of mixers. I feel that won't hold me back for long though. Why is this of any consequence to you lot? The mood also means that I really can't be arsed coming home from ... Read the complete review
