These corn chips come in a distinctive red packet emblazoned with the Doritos logo, in either a small 40g pack, bigger 140g, and then the share size of 245g. It sadly has a lot of calories per pack, but come on, it's a crisp....what do you expect! Salt contnet is reasonable, at only 0.4g for a 40g pack, so at least ypu can soothe your conscience there...more

Doritos Extreme Chilli Heatwave: I'm Feeling Hot Hot Hot! (553 words)

Rating:

These crisps are very nice due to their diversity and subtle flavour. They aren't actually hot in taste whatsoever. They are hotter than other crisps, but they don't burn your mouth by any means! The taste is more spicy and unique rather than a burning sensation. Even the smell is nice as they smell of some speciality oriental delicacy. They come in bright red packets perhaps to emphasise the 'heat' aspect of them. The new design packet has a different style logo and look. The Doritos logo is to the top of the packet and is quite a unique logo. The logo is in white letters outlined in red and black with more colours around the dot on the 'I' and the logo ...  Read the complete review

A pure heatwave (285 words)

I love foods with a strong flavour and anything chilli flavoured is fine by me. I've tried McCoys Chilli crisps and thought that they were brilliant until I wandered into Tesco's and saw a bright red packet that caught my attention and turned out to be these Doritos Extreme Chilli Heatwave Crisps. Basically they are a tortilla chip, excellent seeing as this means they tend to contain a lot less fat and salt than normal crisps. I find tortillas too dry on their own and so normally I like them dipped in a tomatoey dip. I didn't have to do that with these though because they have a brilliant chilli flavouring all over them. it gives them a kind of orange colour, ...  Read the complete review

Doritos Extreme Chilli Heatwave: My favourite way of adding spice into my life! (746 words)

As a lover of all things snacks based as I'm a piglet and also loving chilli in anything of course, these are a firm favourite of mine! Take a look at the ratings given from other reviewers on this site alone and you know I'm going to have the same opinion as them. Unless you don't like chilli I don't see how you could diss these! In which case don't buy them. It's that simple. Now let me just set the record straight before I start. Other reviewers call these crisps in the main. It's misleading as we are used to a crisp being a potato! No tatties are used in the making of these. The correct term for these is a corn chip. The reason? They are made of ...  Read the complete review

Munch my Extremely nice corns (948 words)

As a lover of crisps and peanuts, in fact all things snacky, it is no surprise to find another review in my small portfolio dedicated to a savoury snack. Anyone who read my Chilli flavoured peanut review will know that I like snacks with a bit of "zip". Well….a LOT of zip, actually. These Doritos Extreme Chilli Heatwave certainly have the "zip" factor and are currently my favourite "crisp". Of course Doritos are not technically a "crisp" as such, because they are a corn snack, but you know what I mean…..they come in packets and are found on the crisps shelf in the supermarket. I'd like to say that I stumbled upon these ...  Read the complete review

Doritos Extreme Chilli Heatwave: Spicy, Sweet and Tasty (264 words)

I'd not had these chilli heatwave Doritos in such a long time that when I spotted a bag next to my usual Cheese and Onion Walkers in the garage today I decided to have them for a mid morning snack. They cost 47p for a standard sized bag but I know you can also get them quite a bit cheaper in multi packs from the supermarket. These come in a red bag with the words "chilli heatwave" emblazened on the front in a funky font so it's obvious to anyone thinking of trying them that they're not going to be mild and dainty! They're not overly hot though when you first bite into this which is what I think is so nice about them. You ...  Read the complete review
