These crisps are very nice due to their diversity and subtle flavour. They aren't actually hot in taste whatsoever. They are hotter than other crisps, but they don't burn your mouth by any means! The taste is more spicy and unique rather than a burning sensation. Even the smell is nice as they smell of some speciality oriental delicacy. They come in bright red packets perhaps to emphasise the 'heat' aspect of them. The new design packet has a different style logo and look. The Doritos logo is to the top of the packet and is quite a unique logo. The logo is in white letters outlined in red and black with more colours around the dot on the 'I' and the logo ... I adore savoury snacks, but sometimes get bored with standard, run of the mill ordinary crisps, no matter how many trillions of flavours they come in these days. And sometimes the very (small) health conscious part of me worries about the amount of salt in crisp products. So, I had a savoury snack attack and was on the look out for an alternative when I spotted Doritos ?Extreme Crunch & Flavour Overload? Chilli Heatwave corn chips. At 39p for a 40g bag from the local corner shop, I thought they were relatively good value. I normally associate corn chips with delicious salsa dip, but decided to give these a go ... As a lover of all things snacks based as I'm a piglet and also loving chilli in anything of course, these are a firm favourite of mine! Take a look at the ratings given from other reviewers on this site alone and you know I'm going to have the same opinion as them. Unless you don't like chilli I don't see how you could diss these! In which case don't buy them. It's that simple. Now let me just set the record straight before I start. Other reviewers call these crisps in the main. It's misleading as we are used to a crisp being a potato! No tatties are used in the making of these. The correct term for these is a corn chip. The reason? They are made of ... As a lover of crisps and peanuts, in fact all things snacky, it is no surprise to find another review in my small portfolio dedicated to a savoury snack. Anyone who read my Chilli flavoured peanut review will know that I like snacks with a bit of "zip". Well….a LOT of zip, actually. These Doritos Extreme Chilli Heatwave certainly have the "zip" factor and are currently my favourite "crisp". Of course Doritos are not technically a "crisp" as such, because they are a corn snack, but you know what I mean…..they come in packets and are found on the crisps shelf in the supermarket. I'd like to say that I stumbled upon these ... Read the complete review

I'd not had these chilli heatwave Doritos in such a long time that when I spotted a bag next to my usual Cheese and Onion Walkers in the garage today I decided to have them for a mid morning snack. They cost 47p for a standard sized bag but I know you can also get them quite a bit cheaper in multi packs from the supermarket. These come in a red bag with the words "chilli heatwave" emblazened on the front in a funky font so it's obvious to anyone thinking of trying them that they're not going to be mild and dainty! They're not overly hot though when you first bite into this which is what I think is so nice about them. You ... Read the complete review
