I was up unhumanly early this morning thanks to a late night lunch box retireval mission which also yielded a whole heap of letters from school including a reminder that today is my youngest daughters class cake sale. Eek. Having baked two dozen fairy cakes at some point around midnight I'd lost the will to live and left icing them until this morning hence the need to get up ridiculously early so that the icing had time to set. My six year old kitchen assistant, who for some bizarre reason actually likes getting up super duper early and was in charge of the decorationg fest, decreed that all cakes would be pink and sparkly. My ten year old granddaughter has inherited my love of baking, although being a typical girly girl she does tend to want to pretty everything up as much as possible. For this reason I always make sure I have a tub of Super Cook Silver Balls in the pantry as they are so versatile that she can add them to most things we decide to cook. What do I think of them? ******************* I really like using these for decorating, something silver and shiny just to add a bit of extra sparkle. My mum hates them as they remind her of metal and I suppose they ... Read the complete review

This little tub is something I always have in my cupboard - as they can add a little edible "bling" to any dessert or cake. They really are what they say on the tin - silver balls. The balls are about the size of a small ball bearing and come in small tub which is only 5cm high and weighs 30g - so they don't take up much space in the cupboard. The tub must contain over 100 balls (sorry I didn't count them) and add a real sparkle to cakes and ice cream. They do come with an allergy warning - so do have a close look at the label if you are in anyway allergic to some products. (Gluten and sulphur Dioxide in particular on this ...
