Advantages: Delicious, widely available, healthy alternative.

Disadvantages: Bit expensive.

These bars by Eat Natural are available in a box, as shown above, or individually. I doubt there is any difference, but for clarity I am reviewing one that I bought individually.

Firstly I want to say that this product contains nuts.

Why did I buy this bar?
I bought this bar in Holland & Barrett for about 75p. I was browsing and I fnacied a little treat. There were lots of cereal bars to choose from, and about seven in the Eat Natural range. I like the name and the suggestion that the product is good for you (there is sugar in it but there are also natural ingredients like dried apricots and almonds) and I liked the fact that you can see the bar through the packaging. At 50g, the bar is quite substantial. I also thought that I would like the flavour, so I chose this one over the other available bars.

Where can you get this bar?
I have also seen this bar available in Sainsbury's and in Tesco's. I think that it will be available in most large supermarkets.

Packaging
As I mentioned, I like the fact that the packaging is mostly see-through. This means that you can see what you are buying. The parts of the packaging that are not see-through are the large Eat Natural logo on the front, in black and white, and the orange middle part and ends. The middle part lists the flavour and at the top says 'a bar of nuts and fruit' and under the flavour says '...and nothing dodgy'. On the back of the packaging the ingredients are listed.

The packet is easy to open and I think it is recyclable.

Taste and appearance
When I opened the bar I saw the yoghurt coating, which is quite thin, and the various ingredients through it, such as the almonds and apricots. The bar looked very appetising except for the thin yoghurt coating.

When I tasted the bar, I thought it was delicious! The flavours come through quite well but I think the predominant flavour is the coconut which is quite strong. It complements the almond flavour very well. The yoghurt coating is actually one of the nicest parts of the bar. It adds a sweet taste and also goes well with the other ingredients.

Price
This bar is priced differently in different places, and I daresay that the packet of three will be cheaper. I paid about 75p for this one, but they are slightly cheaper in the supermarkets at about 69p. I think that this is quite expensive compared to other cereal bars. However, for the amount that you get, 50g, it is probably quite reasonable.

Overall opinion
I think that this bar was a lovely treat and made a change from a kitkat or something similar! While I think the bar is quite a healthy choice, it does contain sugar. The taste was delicious and the appearance was quite good too. I think it is a bit expensive but would probably replace two cheaper and smaller bars.

Summary: Recommended.
