I really hate bland food. It spoils the eating experience for me. I like my food to be full of flavour. So whatever type of meal that I am preparing I have a variety of my favourite herbs, sauces and relishes to hand. I have more accompaniments in my cupboard than actual food as I prefer to buy fresh. But whatever I am making for the evening meal I know that it is sure to be have an interesting and satisfying flavour.


Encona Caribbean Thai Sweet Chilli is a taste of the Caribbean and I use this dip in a variety of dishes. It has the most wonderful aroma. 'Thai sweet Chilli Dip is prepared to an original recipe combining a mild blend of chillies and garlic with sugar and lime juice to provide a delicious, gently spiced, sweet flavour. It is traditionally served as a dip with spring rolls, seafood and fired chicken. It is equally delicious in stir-fries, sandwiches and with all your favourite foods'. It is, it goes well with just about anything and I am particularly fond of it on a home made burger. It gives the burger a gentle spicy 'kick' of flavouring which is both sweet and mildy hot with the zingy chilli base to it.

Encona do a range of highly delicious dips and sauces which are immediately distinguishable by their coloured cap coverings. In the case of the Chilli dip the covering is bright blue, with a label that pictures some giant prawns upon the front. It states that this is a 'Mild' chilli dip and that it has a rich, sweet chilli flavour. The weight 142ml and the name Encona is etched boldly upon either side of the tall, slim square shaped bottle. It has a shelf life of one year and once opened it is best kept within the fridge. 'The sauce is prepared to an original recipe combining a mild blend of chillies and garlic with sugar and lime juice to provide a gently spiced, sweet flavour'.


The dip is red in colouring with bits of the chilli and garlic floating about in it. The flavour is divine. It has a deliciously sweet foretaste with a good healthy mild/hot chilli punch following through. It doesn't linger and it will not 'burn' your mouth. There is no hot aftertaste, just a really tasty foretaste and immediate flavour. It really does have a delicious sweet and spicy flavour and is excellent to dip French fries into. Chips on their own are very plain need a bit of extra flavour and Encona Caribbean Thai Sweet Chilli Dip is an ideal accompaniment to the great British chip. -

Encona Caribbean Thai Sweet Chilli Dip is a delicious dip. It is just the right strength for me and leaves no 'hot mouth' experience after tasting. It goes with so many dishes and it really is up to you exactly what you do use it on. It's very versatile and highly tasty. It lasts for quite a while as you don't need a huge amount to get a satisfying flavour upon your food. Encona do a good variety in their sauces and dips, including their famous 'Hot Pepper Sauce' - Sweet Mango Chilli Dip - Jamaican Jerk Sauce, which is fantastic! - Cajun Hot Pepper Sauce - Smooth Papaya Hot Pepper Sauce - Creole Hot Pepper Sauce - Chilli Barbeque Sauce -


I think a condiment can make or break a meal, taste wise and it is important to get it right. I have quite a few of the Encona range of sauces in my stock and the Encona Caribbean Thai Sweet Chilli Dip is a staunch regular in my cupboard and one that is always replaced each time that it has run out. Go on; treat yourself to a Taste of the Caribbean'. You won't be disappointed.-
