Epoisses Cheese ... de Bourgogne, the local pomace brandy), it is circular at around either 10cm or 18cm in diameter, with a distinctive soft red-orange colour. It is sold in a circular wooden box, and is best served with a good red Burgundy wine, or even Sauternes.

For goodness sake! How on earth can you rate chocolates as similar products to a whiffy French cheese? You state that similar products include Cadbury's Roses chocolates. Are you mad ? Why don't you do what one would expect and list similar cheeses? I can think of several that might fit the bill including puant normande and camembert - it seems your commercial needs have overcome your rationality, and that's being kind! Epoisses, officially called Epoisses de Bourgogne, it is a soft cow's cheese that with a bread crust coloured washed rind that is a bit sweaty generally, it is washed in a local pomace brandy and was a firm favourite with Napoleon. The man clearly had good taste as it's one of my faves too but don't expect to have any friends wilst eating this cheese and certainly don't expect a good relationship if you are driving back some from France! The cheese is very pongy, so much so that it is in fact banned from travelling on French public transport with the cheese.
