Advantages: chocolate, chocolate spread, can last long, delicious, indulgent
Disadvantages: None
I started buying 'Nutella' also known as 'Ferrero Nutella' not too long ago when a friend offered me a cup of tea with some toasted Belgian waffles with chocolate spread when I went to visit her.
I found it very delicious and started to buy Belgian waffles and Nutella as an alternative to 'toast' for occassional cup of tea in the morning, afternoon or evenings.
Nutella comes in a transparent glass or plastic jar (depending on the size you buy..) with a white opaque plastic cover.
The jar has the word 'nutella' standing out in big clear red font so you will not miss it on the shelves.
It retails for £1.50 - £4.50 depending on which size you go for (200 g, 350 g, 400 g or 750 g) and where you buy it... You can find the product in most supermarket chains.
The jar has a picture of a slice of bread with some of the spread and a knife below the words with large nuts and a glass of milk showing what you can do with the spread and also what the spread contains.
The product itself is dark brown and looks like chocolate..'IS chocolate':-) Although quite thick when you're using a knife to remove it from the jar, it has a very smooth texture.
It has got a DELICIOUS scent, which is sweet, nutty and 'chocolatey' and this is due to some of its ingredients.
The product contains ingredients: ' Sugar, vegetable oil, 13% hazelnuts, cocoa powder, skimmed milk powder, lecithin & vanilla'
The product tastes sweet, you get the chocolate tatse coming through due to the cocoa powder (and sugar).. and a bit of the vanilla taste which is not over-powering compared to the cocoa.
Once opened, the product is to be stored in a dry cool place (cupboard) and not refrigerated and can last a while from when you open it provided you store it as advised(see dates on the jar)
Nutella tastes great on toasted bread and is great as a snack or with breakfast, I also find it particularly delicious on toasted belgian waffles and this is how I prefer mine.
I find it too indulgent to eat everyday (but that may depend on an individual) so I only use the product as a treat and when I want something different from the usual butter on toast.
I'd recommend...

- 16/05/09 I love this chocolate spread! The only thing is that it is a bit expensive for me, so I buy it only as a treat. I love to eat it as is. The moment you taste it, you just know it is a high quality spread. You, somehow, placed your review in the wrong category, but I am, nevertheless, glad you wrote it. |
