Advantages: Delicious snack on its own, tastes even better on toast with a banana.
Disadvantages: Can be a little sickly if you eat too much.
When it comes to toast toppings I always have to have a decent selection available. Marmite is an absolute must, and Nutella also is something that you'll very rarely not find in my cupboard.
Packed with over 50 hazelnuts in every 400g jar, Nutella has an absolutely delicious taste of hazelnut with a slight hint of chocolate. The hazelnut is by far the most dominant flavour here, you can slightly taste the cocoa coming through though, and the overall Nutella flavour provides for an absolutely amazing eating experience.
Nutella is of quite a thick consistency, it won't pour out if you tilt the jar like honey would, and it can be quite hard getting the right amount out for spreading. If you're a big fan of Nutella then spreading a lot on your toast won't be too much of a problem, it can be a little sickly if you overdo it though, and as big a fan of Nutella as I am; I have found in the past that I have put too much Nutella on, and my toast has sometimes beaten me.
Nutella tastes delicious eaten straight from the jar with a spoon, can provide the perfect sandwich filler, sits very nicely on toast, and I also find that if you chop up a banana on top then Nutella will taste even more delicious than it already does so. Nutella truly is an excellent product, and if I do ever run out of any in the cupboard then I'm usually pretty quick to replace it.
£1.15 for a 400g jar in Tesco right now (saving you 53p), I feel that this represents excellent value for money, and actually makes the 400g jar cheaper than the 200g pot at the moment. It's certainly not a bad price to pay for something so delicious, and if it's been a while since you had your last Nutella fix then I'd definitely recommend investing in a pot.
Ingredients: Sugar, Vegetable Oil, Hazelnuts (13%), Fat-Reduced Cocoa (7.4%), Skimmed Milk Powder (6.6%), Whey Powder, Emulsifier (Soy Lecithin), Vanillin
Summary: A fantastic toast topper, and a product that I very rarely go without.

- 19/10/09 Doubtful. Apparently I've got some Dooyoo Miles expiring this month though, so I'll be writing a few more to get an Amazon voucher before it's too late! |
