Advantages: Taste good, cheap and convenient

Disadvantages: Still not the same as good old fashioned home cooking!

Findus Crispy Pancakes are a must-have for your freezer. They provide a quick, easy and tasty meal when you haven't the time to prepare anything from scratch. Many a time they have come to my rescue when Im in a rush and need to make a quick and easy tea. I generally serve them with potatoes and veg but they are pretty versatile and could be served with whatever you like.

What you get is a minced beef and onion filling with gravy which is surprisingly succulent and not at all dry encased in a pancake exterior and covered in breadcrumbs. The filled pancakes are served in a half-moon shape (basically a pancake that has been folded in half and filled).

When cooked the interior expands until it looks like it could 'pop' and away you go. When baked in the oven they generally take 20-25 minutes to become fully cooked and piping hot to serve and I use gas mark 6 on our oven to cook them. They can also be grilled which takes slightly less time - around 15 minutes, though they are not suiable for microwave cooking. You are left with a nice crispy exterior with a tasty filling when cooked properly. Delish!!

They are available from the frozen section of most supermarkets for around £1.70 for a pack of 6 (a 375g box) and I generally serve 2 per person for adults and 1 for children so not bad value for money, though I generally tend to wait until you can get them on offer for £1.00 which they very often are.

They are also available in a three cheese variety which is the same concept just a cheese filling instead of the minced beef filling though from personal experience I find these a bit sickly and much prefer the minced beef version.

Overall not bad really for a frozen meal. For more information on the product you can go to the Findus website at WWW.FINDUS.CO.UK.

Summary:
The packaging is fully recyclable. The pancakes are pretty cost efficient, taste good, easy to cook and not too bad in the nutrition stakes either. What could be better!!

Completely recommend these for those 'rush' days and they are now a regular visitor to my freezer. Go for it!!

Summary: Great for a quick-fix meal

I used to love the cheese ones *melts* These were my least favourite of the 3 available. Brilliant review!
