Advantages: Great selection
Disadvantages: Eat too many and you will pile on the pounds!
NEW FLAVOURS
I have always enjoyed Fox's Echo bars, but now I have discovered they make them in orange and peppermint flavours too!
The chocolate bubbles are simple melt-in-the-mouth and the crunchy biscuit base is a good accompaniment, giving a different texture.
CONTENT
The content of the biscuit is on the back of the label and states that they contain 45% milk chocolate and 29% white chocolate, and then lists the other ingredients, which I am not going to mention as there are loads of them.
The flavouring is not described in detail, but it does add on the label that this contains cows milk, soya and gluten so for anyone with an intolerance to dairy produce the biscuits would not be suitable. It also states that the biscuit has been made in a factory where they use nut ingredients.
The label also state that the product is suitable for vegetarians.
TASTE
The biscuits taste very sweet, but I still love them all the same!!! The orange flavoured one is not too tangy but has a subtle orange taste, not unlike that of a chocolate orange segment.
The peppermint one has a subtle minty taste too, not too strong or overpowering and it is a good combination with the chocolate.
MORE INFO
The original Echo bars are in blue wrappers, whereas the orange ones are in brown with a pattern on them in orange, and the peppermint ones are in green wrappers.
The bars are slim, a bit chunky, not unlike a Twix, and are small enough to tuck into your sandwich box for lunch, or pop into your handbag or pocket if you fancy a snack through the day.
FOX'S
Fox's biscuits used to be made in a factory in the north of England, about ten miles from Leeds. The company is now part of a large group but they still have the original factory in that town.
Fox's make biscuits for large companies as well as under their own name. These include Marks and Spencer and Tesco. In other words, the biscuits you buy from these places have probably been made by Fox's and labelled with the name of the retailer instead of the producer.
As the company makes for M & S you can be assured that their products are of good quality as M & S insist on rigorous inspections of all its manufacturers' conditions etc.
CONCLUSION
This review is probably shorter than most of my other ones, but there is only so much you can say about a chocolate biscuit! Suffice it to say that Echo bars are delicious, in whatever flavour you choose!!!
Summary: Echo biscuits taste good!
