Advantages: very nice and its something a bit different

Disadvantages: nothing other than the obvious, too much sugar and fat

I first heard about these biscuits on Dooyoo, and they sounded lovely, so when I went shopping today I sought them out. I bought them from Asda, they were at the end of the biscuit aisle along with some other new biscuits. They cost £1.37 for a 150g pack.

***Packaging***

The pack is a thin cellophane wrapper with a thin, shaped plastic tray to minimise the chances of the biscuits being squashed. Everything about the packet screams "ordinary", except the photograph of the biscuit. this makes it look like so much more than an ordinary biscuit.

***The Product***

When I opened the pack, I must say I was quite surprised at the size. They were reasonably smaller that I expected. There were 10 in the packet. Each biscuit (the actual shortcake base) is 1 inch by 1 and a half inches, on top of that is the very soft caramel. To top it off is a very thick layer of creamy milk chocolate which overhangs the edge of the shortcake. The shortcake is buttery and is quite crisp to bite into, then just melts away so easily in your mouth. The caramel is sweet and smooth, sometimes caramel can be a bit gritty like the sugar has not been dissolved properly, but this is not the case here. The chocolate is creamy and is perhaps a bit thick at the edges, but this does not spoil the overall taste though. Overall the biscuit is very nice and although quite small, it just means I can have a cheeky second.

***The Facts***

Each biscuit contains
78 kcals
7.6g sugar
4.1g fat
2.4g saturates
Trace of salt

All in all a very nice change to have with my tea, I will buy these again and recommend giving them a try.

Summary: delicious, give them a try

The best ones I found are the thorntons ones. They do them in sainsburys for around£1.50. They are amazing:)
