Mint Poppets were always going to be a winner with me because I love mint and I love dark chocolate so what was not to like about a dark chocolate mint cream which is what a mint Poppet is in case anyone did not know. I used to buy boxes of these a week for work but had not had them in about a year till I picked box up in my local paper shop a few days ago. The packaging has stayed pretty much the same, a green box about the size of a deck of cards (well just a little smaller), with the word Poppets on it in black and the word mint below that in white. Fox's Mint Poppets Mmmmm, my mouth is watering. I love all chocolate and in particular all minty chcolate, but these really are good. Poppets have been around for years and I even rember having them when in primary school. What are they? They are small round individual sweets make of a mint cream fondant covered in dark choclate. Poppets are all packaged together in a rather strange little box. The box is rectangular and has a side panel that you tear to open. The sweets are then dispensed one at a time without any mess. Yesterday I popped down to Asda for a couple of bits we needed, while there I thought I would treat my other half and myself to something that we rarely have, a bar of chocolate or some sweets so I looked at what was on offer in the aisle. I considered strawberry laces and Haribo bags, then I saw something we had a reminisced about just a week or so ago, Poppets.
