Advantages: caramel
Disadvantages: size
I am eating one of these right now, so why not write about it too hey?
The Rocky bar is a chocolate bar made up of caramel covered biscuit, shrouded in chocolate. It measures around five inches in length, and one inch in width, so is fairly small.
Wrapped in bright gold plastic, this bar looks like it's going to be something special. The nutritional info is annoying because it only tells you per bar, making it impossible to work out the percentages, for which I needed a bit of online surfing.
At 59% sugar and 29% fat, it's an incredibly unhealthy sweet, and to be honest those stats make me feel a bit annoyed for eating it.
The biscuit part of the bar is decidedly average: crunchy and hard, it could be any old Asda's own digestive. The chocolate is nice - sweet and creamy, which adds well with the smooth, slightly liquid caramel, which dribbles around on your tongue when you bite into it. Without a doubt, it's the caramel that is the winner here, and as the chocolate starts to melt in your mouth, it mixes really nicely.
My main gripe with the bar is the size. Weighing 25g, it's half the weight of your average chocolate bar. Whilst this may make it the ideal kiddie's lunch-box treat, for an adult you're pretty much just left needing to eat at least one more, which kind of defeats the whole object.
Price-wise, I bought a pack of 10 for 60p from approvedfood.co.uk, but expect to pay twice that in the shops.
All in all, a nice enough bar, but there's just not enough of it to excite me, and with those nutritional details, I'm not so unhappy about that either.
Summary: don't bother
