Advantages: Amazing taste
Disadvantages: Horrific calorie count and high saturated fat!
There are just so many yummy treats out there to chose from it can be difficult to know what to chose when you go shopping. I definitely recommend Fox's Whipped Creams for anytime that you are struggling to decide what to buy. They are amazing! Fox's are very well known for making good quality biscuits which are heaven for the lips but unfortunately not the hips! These are the latest treats from Fox's and are in my opinion the best so far.
They come in two flavours; Lustful Lemon and Sinful Strawberry. A 200g box of either flavour will set you back £1.25 from Tesco, you get 10 in a box which is a little bit expensive but honestly they are worth every penny.
They come in a box that is either pale red (strawberry) or pale yellow (lemon). In the middle of the front of the box is a white box on which there is a picture of one of the creams which has been bitten in half and another 2 of them which are tied together with black ribbon. The ribbon has what looks like a gift label on one of its ends and on that label is the Fox's logo and the name Whipped Creams in large black letters. In the top left hand corner is a little triangle telling you that this is a new product. The whole box looks very sophisticated and gives the impression that the contents will be really good! On the back of the box are the ingredients and the nutritional information.
The ingredients, so that those who have allergies don't get their hopes up about being able to eat these and then be disappointed later on, are:
Wheatflour, Vegetable Oil, Butter (13%), Sugar, Lemon Curd (9%), Dried Skimmed Milk, Dextrose, Cornflour, Raising Agents: Disodium Diphosphate, Sodium Bicarbonate, Ammonium Bicarbonate, Emulsifier:Soya Lecithins, Flavouring, Lemon Curd contains: Glucose-Fructose Syrup, Non HVO Margarine, Dried Egg, Cornflour, Wheatflour, Citric Acid, Gelling Agent: Pectin, Acidity Regulator: Tri-Sodium Citrate, Natural Flavouring, Natural Colour, Calcium Chloride
Contains Eggs, Contains Gluten, Contains Milk, Contains Soya\Soybeans, Contains Wheat, Suitable for Vegetarians
Those are the ingredients for the lemon flavour and the strawberry one is similar, it contains all of the same allergens apart from eggs so if you have an egg allergy you can enjoy the strawberry ones, woo! Now then, I'm sure you all want to know how much damage these are going to do, well once you've read this you won't want to, it's bad! Each biscuit contains:
Calories:
141kcal, 7% of your GDA
Sugar:
5.5g, 6% of your GDA
Fat:
9.2g, 13% of your GDA
Saturates:
5.5g, 28% of your GDA
Salt:
0.2g, 3% of your GDA
Well that's my diet gone out of the window, almost 30% of your GDA of saturated fat is in each one of these and I promise you that there is no way you will be Able to eat just one of these, they are too good!
I bet you're all wondering what exactly these wonderful treats are. Well basically they are two shortcake biscuits with whipped cream and either strawberry jam or lemon curd in the middle. These however are the best shortcake biscuits you can get! The shortcake melts in your mouth and is slightly crumbly, it has a sweet buttery taste, perfect! The cream is very nice and there is plenty of it, it tastes delicious and goes really well with both of the fillings. The strawberry jam has a delicious sweet taste whereas the lemon curd tastes more tangy, both are delicious.
Overall I think that these are heavenly and I will definitely be buying them again despite the horrific calorie count. As an added extra they come in 2 flavours so you can chose which one you want to buy depending on how sweet you like your snacks. I give these 10 out of 10 because they taste amazing.
Summary: Treat yourself, you know you want to!
