Advantages: Superior Quality Biscuit
Disadvantages: Too Posh for Dunking!
I am basing this review on the 'half coated chocolate chunk cookies' these are quite frankly the naughtiest yet nicest things I have ever tasted!
I originally purchased these as they were on an introductory offer in my local Tesco's. I am not a massive biscuit eater but always like to have some in the house to offer guests - normally I wouldn't touch them myself - but how this has all changed now!
I was initially attracted to them by the introductory offer and also by the packaging which just shouted out 'I am a classy biscuit and good enough to offer your visitors!' The name itself and the picture of the side of chocolate chips and a big fat chocolate coated cookie ensured that they were straight in my basket.
The indulgence range is a new range from Fox's who in my opinion are pretty much the kings when it comes to biscuits. I opened these a few days later to share with some friends over a nice cup of tea. You don't get many in a packet only about 9 or 10 which are in a black tray (I always quite like biscuits in trays - more protection - less breakages!).
The biscuit itself is like a home made cookie - not perfectly round but all odd shaped. One side is smooth and covered in a very thick layer of chocolate and on the reverse you can just see the biscuit with chocolate chunks sticking out. They
Have quite an oat based taste to them - which makes them quite chewy - and the chocolate chips and chocolate layer make them taste very, very chocolaty - they really are very good! I didn't bother with any tea dunking as I think they are far too superior in quality for that!
Though there are few in a pack, these bad boys are quite hefty in size so are quite filling - which is an incredibly good thing as I am about to cover the nutritional information! With a whopping 130 kcal per biscuit these are the last things you should have in the house if you are watching your weight! There are also 6.7g of fat per biscuit with 3.5g being saturated fat.
There are other varieties available which I am yet to try and at approx £1.50 per pack at most supermarkets, these are quite on the pricey side for biscuits - but they are a great tasty treat and great to share with guests!
Summary: Fox's - you naughty, naughty boys!
