Advantages: Decent pizzas, Not bad for price, Increasingly popular
Disadvantages: Quite a small range at present
This is my first opinion on a food product so please forgive me if it's crap.
Well first of all I'm a complete pizza fanatic, I love them and I eat lots and lots - I worked out last year I consumed over fifty which was scary (no I'm not a porker!). Every friday evening in my house is pizza time where we dial-a-pizza and wash it down with a bottle of Chianti or three until about three months ago when I tasted my first Freschetta pizza! As you can see I know a good pizza when I taste one and believe me when I tell you Freschetta pizzas are the product I have been searching for and didn't think I would ever find. As all pizza lovers know, frozen pizzas just aren't the same. I've tried them all, Chicago Town, McCains, Goodfellows the lot and none come close to the freshly baked pizzas you enjoy in your local Pizza Hut or Pizza Express BUT Freschetta pizzas are the bees knees, they are in my view restaurant style pizzas, frozen - yes really!
Freschetta pizzas
Freschetta pizzas were first developed in 1996 in the United States and were a huge success over there winning loads of prizes for best new product etc, It wasn't long before they were launched over here in the U.K where they have had a colder reception but believe me, they are growing in popularity. Giants like Iceland, Tescos, Sainsburys and Morrisons are all now stocking Freschetta and the space/range allocated to them has grown markedly over the last year. There all millions of these little gems out there waiting to be discovered - see if you can find one!
The packaging of the pizzas is quite distinctive. Mainly a green box with Freschetta in blue bubble writing, surrounded by the words bakes and rises. The box has a circle on the front cut out of the cardboard with the pizza visible on the inside in a cellophane wrapper - I've started to slavver!

These are said to be enough for two people but I would say one actually and I'm not particulary greedy.

These are said to be enough for up to six people but I think closer to three.
Some of the range is not easy to find, I would suggest visiting a larger supermarket if your after the likes of the less popular Vegetable Primavera and Special Deluxe.
Cooking the little beauties!
Unlike any other frozen pizza, the Freschetta range is completely uncooked so should be cooked without the need for pre-heating otherwise you will spoil the base. Use a large baking tray because the base does expand outwards quite a deal.
For conventional gas and electric ovens, cook on gas mark 5 or 250'f for twenty three minutes.
For fan assisted gas and electric ovens, cook on gas mark 4 or 200'f for twenty five minutes.
The thing most noticeable once they are done is the teriffic smell of the freshly baked bread which puts them in comparison to a take away pizza. If you put it alongside a take away pizza on a plate you wouldn't be able to see the difference but the great thing is, nor would you after you have tasted them both either. My personal favourites are the Supreme and the Pepperoni although I'm quite taken with the Special Deluxe too. The toppings are tasty and generous and the thin, crispy bases are nine out of ten stuff too. Sometimes on frozen pizzas, the cheese can taste rubbery or the chicken dry but there is none of that on evidence here. The quality of the ingredients is very high.
How much then?
8'' have ranged anything from 99p to £1.50 depending on where you go.
12'' have ranged anything from £1.99 to £2.99 depending on where you go.

s you can see there not the cheapest frozen pizzas on the market which is probably why they haven't completely taken off yet but they are the best and by some distance. When your getting quality I don't mind handing over a few more pence.
As these pizzas are still being promoted heavily to increase their market share you may find that they are quite often on offer at one of the big supermarkets. They were on BOGOF not long since and my chest freezer is still stuffed with them hehe.
Conclusion
What can I say, simply the best frozen pizzas in the shops today. That's from a pizza madman and if you don't believe me go find out for yourself. Dial-a-pizzas are out in my abode and Freschettas are in.
Part with some dough and treat yourself to a pizza the action !!
